AJAX MenuIndex changer core integration

While talking with Raymond I came up with this idea to integrate my AJAX MenuIndex changer into the core:

[06:42 PM] Mark Kaplan: fires the re-arranger with that parent
[06:42 PM] Mark Kaplan: and on the edit page
[06:42 PM] Raymond: sounds great
[06:42 PM] Mark Kaplan: next to the menu index
[06:42 PM] Raymond: cool
[06:42 PM] Mark Kaplan: an A/Z button that when clicked does the same thing

Well, Raymond said if this gets full dev team approval he would do this for me considering I know nada about the core itself. So everyone approve!

This really is good use of AJAX : time saver, intuitive for the user, who would vote against ?

The only thing (forgive me to ask stupid question) is do we provide an alternative if javascript is disabled (and does it still have any interrest to do so ?) ?

The whole Manager is so tied up with Javascript, it would pretty much have to be a completely separate "optional" manager package to go without. I’ve worked up one that does almost everything except the document tree without javascript, although some of the action scripts also use a lot of javascript. It’s doable, but is really a totally different animal. I’ve backed off on the work on it since the whole backend will be changing in the next few versions.

Well, note I said for the second option "next to the menu index" so that field would still exist if someone wanted to set it manually.
