I like the secton on Ext. Have you messed around with Ext.extend? Specifically with creating custom grids/trees/windows/etc. MODx uses it with it’s MODx.* objects. Once you get used to that idea, creating fast and easily deployable Ext apps is very, very easy.

Yes, I’m thinking of one discussing how to embed an external Perl app (DadaMail) into a CMS (specifically MODx).

I’ve also asked him about adding MODx to his Designer Resources section.

Great stuff as usual Susan. I really think these kinds of articles placed strategically around the net will prove to be our best marketing tools, second only to word-of-mouth recommendations from satisfied designers and developers. Of course, I’m the kind of person that gets turned off by traditional advertising, so what do I know...

But man, who decided in the last year or so that Lucida Sans is a good font for web sites, especially ones that are supposed to be targeted at designers? They should be 86’ed from the net. I had to click the don’t allow sites to specify their own fonts option so I could read this article.

It is and never was a good font I think that many designers may put in Lucida instead of "lucida grande" which is the one that will actually render properly. In any event, it is awful--worse if you have antialiasing turned on under XP.

Heh. I just got email from him that he’ll bring up adding MODx to their list of resources at some meeting or another today, so I let him know that the fonts on the site are not universally appreciated. Maybe he’ll bring that up too.

Okay. That does it. That’s the fourth remark on font choice I’ve heard in the past couple weeks already. I’ll be changing it. Thanks for the info.
