Back "full on" to Marketing next week

Just a quick note to update the Marketing forum : since I am done with my last two business projects and finished a third (all MODx based ), and the only thing remaining is getting paid I’ll be at last taking care of long overdue tasks in the Marketing area !

• Write and send via the mailing list the marketing plan for 2006 (already 4 months behind here (sic) )
• Translate the Framasoft article, or rather "adapt", I tried semi-literal translation and it s*cks
• I’d like us to have a "Contributing : How to ?" page and a "Testimony" page : how about that ?
• Check all non-resolved issues and ideas that have been brought up in the Marketing area : take up Chanh on his offer to have something published on opensourcecms.com, and other things that I need to scan for here

If you have anything to add here, go for it, I’ll be "between contracts" next week with much more availaibility... now is the time !

I have news : I just got a 10 000 euros contract for a medium sized MODx powered website ! I’ll probably sponsor development of a snippet for this one, which needs a full blown notification system... I’ll post about that later...

10 companies were competing for this bid, 3 were heard and I got the contract We were against proprietary .aspx solution, Drupal and Joomla...

I am not out of the woods yet, launching a business is never easy and always a bet, but MODx came right when I needed it and it’s starting to pay off ! As soon as I get paid for the previous contract, I’ll start donating a share to the project

Well, it’s cool, even if I had to lower the price given the fact that I have few references so far... but this one will make a lot to establish my newborn business

I hope it will also help build some showcase of MODx corporate websites in France This will be my 4th, 1 & 2nd are just finished, 3rd is 80% done and this one will start in two weeks. I know Marc has started two websites built on MODx, so yeah I guess it will help establish a first base for the future !

I don’t know about off-topic, zi, David is Our Man in Paris, and every big job he gets there makes MODx look better! We have a Site Showcase, and User Testimonials, but to a lot of people a Bottom Line is more influential. Maybe an anonymous running total of how much everybody is making using MODx? And make a big announcement when the first million is reached?

I thought I read once that you can buy advertising done in lights on the Eiffel Tower?
