Things I'd like moved to Modules/Plugins

These might all be optional, too (in rough order):

• Address book/contact manager (username/password remain the only "core" part) - onUserDetails
• Statistics - onLogStat, onPageHit, or...
• RTEs (done!!!)
• File manager/resource browser - onAssetUpload, onAssetPreview, on AssetBlahBlah
• Captcha/Human Verification - onHumanVerify
• Syntax coloring/line numbering - onPluginView, onPluginEdit
• Export site - onExportSite
• Import site - onImportSite
• Authentication method (DB check, LDAP, Flat File check, etc.) - as exists
• Messaging system (including our PHPmailer distribution) - onUserNotify
• Sparklines

Statistics! (already on it’s way)

Definitely stats... doh! (And above Captcha, too...)

Authentication Events already exists so all u have to do is plugin in your LDAP, Flat File, etc code.

What about export and import site? That’s the sort of thing that only a small percentage of our users will be using, especially export.

And the export site could also be really enhanced to do it similar to the Friendly aliases paths implementation also with collecting all related assets.

Speaking of which, FURLs and Friendly alias paths is another example of what could be a module/plugin.

Can we do up a list of possible event names for these kinda things? Any ideas thus far?

updated to consolidate all discussed so far into head with some suggested even names... granted, I don’t really have a grasp at how the events should be handled, but I can try to invent names!!! lol

Syntax coloring for viewing Plugins (snippets/chunks/plugins/templates) also comes to mind now that I think about it. Colored syntax + line numbers would be great.

Also need to look at updating or moving the phpmailer class to a plugin while we’re at it...
