    Hi!

    I just want to introduce my new site (and ask for ideas for improvement). The site is in German language - the english translation is not finished yet, but we are working on it ...

    This forum helped me a lot - this page was just possible with YOUR support. Thank you!

      Nice!
      Like the subtle use of the modal window.
      I like to see a site where the text is big enough to read!

        textsize is a problem - on big screens, the text is to small, on small screen it is to large. I thought about a javascript-solution (asking for window-width) or buttons ...

              I love how smooth the transitions between pages are. I think that you should make it so the images preload and then fade in because on some pages the fade effect lost its, ah, emphasise as it only effected a small portion of the image that had loaded. Not sure how you would achieve that - JavaScript isn’t my thing, but I know that slimbox does it so it must be possible.

                Nice site, smooth appearance. Please give more space around the quotations.

                  @darkmikey:

                  yes - I should code a preload-function there. Don´t know how to do it yet.

                  I am thinking about using ditto or wayfinder to generate some JS-code (the images are stored as TV) similar to

                  <script type="text/javascript">
                  pictureArray = new Array("../images/img01.jpg", "../images/img02.jpg", "../images/img03.jpg",  "../images/img04.jpg");

                  function preloadImages()
                  {
                    for (i=0; i < pictureArray.length; i++) {
                      var Bild = new Image();
                      Bild.src = pictureArray[i];
                    }
                  }
                  </script>

                  I could even generate this code as a separate dynamic js-file, so it has only to be loaded once ...

                  This is just an idea - do you think this is a good solution? do you have better ideas?

                  @rasc:
                  The main problem with this layout is the flexible with of the page. On big screens the elements get lost & on small screens everything is oversized and squeezed. I will use some Javascript to check the window-width and serve different versions as soon as possible.

                  ... and: thanks for your help!

                    Forget the JS playing. Indent the left quotation mark a bit (7 to 10 px) and increase (!) the line-height for the quotation. This should help.

                      changed it a little bit - moved the left quotation mark 14 px and increased the lineheight (1em -> 1.15em)
