Some of you have already seen one of my sites and it was a little bit on the tag soup side and after some comments about it I decided to sort that. It’s not taken me all this time to sort it, I just have been working on another site. Both sites are coded in Strict Xhtml 1.0 and as far as I’m aware 95% of the pages validate 100% but don’t quote me lol. Anyway check them out below.
Web design site
http://www.rossco-designs.com
Web hosting site
http://www.rd-internet.com
The web hosting site is mainly using MODx but the actual accounts and ordering side is not. I made the whole site look the same but the ordering side is a blank template that I skinned to look like the MODx site.
Both sites are being made for a project for my first year class in web development but I will be using them soon to see if I can gain any customers!
Both sites are not 100% completed as yet but any suggestions and comments will be great.
Thanks.

Anyone?
rossco, cool sites. I like the menu in the design site and the 3D bubble effect in the borders for the hosting site. In the design site the open/close header feature is a bit wiggy, it works fine on the home page then on the domains page it flashes open and closes while the page loads and then on the hosting page it does not exist. I figure since there is nothing up there yet that it is still under development. The same area on the hosting site could be narrower, at least on FF OSX it is about 4 lines tall where it would be more effective just one line tall. And maybe it could be framed with the site so that if you have a big monitor that the navigation follows the site rather than staying in the top/left corner.
There are lots of cool JS effects. For some reason the content part of the hosting site takes a little longer to load, this can be a little annoying wen browsing the site.
The design is interesting, it is a bit "blocky" with the big graphic elements and puffy borders but the colors and textures are good. In any case it is well done and you can see that a lot of work was put into them both.

Both designs were done in PS and each took about 3 hours. The actual hosting site is running on ruby and I see alot of people are complaining ruby is very slow. I can integrate hostDirector but I’m not paying for it since there’s no way to evaluate the software first. I skinned it to look as near to the MODx site as I could and there’s a noticeable slow down... I spoke to tech support about it and they are looking in to the issue since there’s been a few complaints in to it. It’s nothing to do with the servers etc.. just ruby!
Thanks for giving me your opinion. Hopefully I get good marks for my first year project!

I’m doing a 2 year course on web development and design which will lead me in to the 3rd year of a degree... I’m not expected to do such a large project but I thought it would be good to see what I can do and show some of my skills.
Neat stuff, what are you using for Live support on
http://www.rd-internet.com/ ?
Good luck with your degree!

Thanks Taff.... nice to see you guys commenting on my site. I’m using Crafty Syntax just now but I looking for an alternative just now... Some one mentioned Meebo if a post I created but I’m not so sure about that.
Anymore comments or recommendations would be gratefully appreciated.
