    Hi,

I am Angsuman Chakraborty ( blog - my simple way of introducing with my blog on Java and web tech.). We were using Mambo and then Joomla for several years. Our website needed a major makeover. We started with Joomla and made quite some progress with it and then it hit me like a ton of bricks. Most of the custom modification I wanted to do was extremely difficult to accomplish in Joomla. And I am not a PHP newbie. I have been working with Java and then PHP for several years, provide several WordPress plugins etc.

I had previous experience with Drupal and it didn’t meet my reqs. either. Anyway in short I stumbled upon ModX and very much liked it (review).

Finally we have released our corp website based on ModX. Please take a look and let me know what you think, preferably on our forum so we can track it better.

What we all loved best about ModX was its flexibility and customizability. Hat’s off to MODx creators!

    Thanks,
    Angsuman

A bit busy for my taste, but then it’s hard for me to see it since my eyes aren’t so good any more. By the time I’ve squinted to figure out what it’s saying, it changes. That’s a big problem with flash based content. Definitely one site I’d skip if I were looking for such things.

        Thanks for the feedback.
By the way, it isn’t Flash, just plain Javascript and a animated gif when Javascript is not present. We will increase the timings.

It is an interesting site. Definitely looks like a lot of work went into it.

I would slow down the animation on the home. I had the same problem as sottwell where it changed before I was able to read it. And the banners were a bit busy as well, lots of text and schematics etc.. too much to take in at one time. I did not relate the get started tab with the animation, once I figured it out it helps being able to return to the screen to read on. I would reduce the amount of text and put the font much bigger to make it easy to read if possible.

Another think is the blue text over the light gray background made it hard to read the home page. Maybe darken the text color to add more contrast.

Also on the products page you might want to add the titles of the main products, it was not obvious that the boxes were the links to the products and since it is hard to read the names on the boxes it may be something that gets overlooked by others.

Thanks. That’s very useful feedback. We didn’t realize how small the fonts were on the product boxes.
I deeply appreciate all your help. Please keep it coming smiley

We have changed the font on the graphics.
Can you please take a look again and let me know your feedback?

That is much, much better! I can read it all now, even without my glasses!

The placement of the "get started" button seems a little off to me; but I’m not a graphics designer so I can’t specify exactly what seems off about it to me. Maybe it’s the color? Maybe that it slightly overlaps the top line of the box’s content? I don’t know what it is, it just ... seems not quite right.

I wouldn’t be so picky, but if this is a corporate website it needs to be perfect! grin

Looks like your MySQL server is down. I can’t look at the site.
