    Hi all,

    I have been bothering you guys with lots of questions, sometimes stupid ones. But that resulted in this site, an old British motorcycle club in Holland asked me to create a site for them. http://www.velocetteclub.nl is the result.
    Snippets used in there are maxigallery, ditto (member pages), fdm (member pages) and the smf bridge module. I need to repair my older PC so I can hack the CSS sheet for IE6. I am not a graphic designer nor a site designer. Someone asked me to help them out with their site, and before I knew a friend of him asked me for an estimate for such a cool site "where you can change the content so easily". Here I am now with this product, and many thanks to the modx forum for all your patience. Do give me critics on this site, I need to learn,

    best, Frank.

    PS does anyone understand why loading timnes in IE7 and FF on XP are about 3 secs where on apple saf and FF that is about 1 sec?

        Hello Frank,
        I’m getting a "looking up manager" message showing for a couple of seconds in FF on XP.
        Might be to do with the double"//" in your header here?
           <script src="//manager/media/script/scriptaculous/prototype.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
          <script src="//manager/media/script/scriptaculous/scriptaculous.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

        Also the link you posted has wwww. !

          Sorry bout the wwww, should be okay now, and thanks for the tip on the //.
          Changed
          <script src="[(base_url)]/manager/media/script/scriptaculous/prototype.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
          to
          <script src="[(base_url)]/manager/media/script/scriptaculous/prototype.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
          and that seems to make a big difference.

            Instead of putting [(base_url)] in your links, you might want to put the following above anything path-related/containing in your document header:
            <base href="[(site_url)]"></base>

            (The closing </base> avoids problems with everyone’s favorite browser, IE6.)

              Almost instant load now.
              Where’s all the content?
              I was looking forward to seeing some Velocettes!
              I did like the test video, reminds me of all those Dutch caravans in the summer clogging up Europe.

                so the above would be

                <script src="<base href="[(site_url)]></base>"manager/media/script/scriptaculous/prototype.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

                ?

                    <script src="<base href="[(site_url)]></base>"manager/media/script/scriptaculous/prototype.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
                    No, these are two different independant tags.
                    It is something like this:
                    <base href="[(site_url)]></base>
                    <script src="manager/media/script/scriptaculous/prototype.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

                      @Franck

                      For your footer, I am not sure (I am not very experienced in css) but to center your text rather using lot of &nbsp, you can enclose your footer text between <p> tag :
                      <p>© 2008 Velocette Club Nederland <a href="http://www.modxcms.com" title="MODx" target="_blank">Powered by Modx</a> , Webdesign © by <a href="mailto:xxxxx@yyyyy">Smashit</a></p>
                      and define in your css file something like:
                      #footer p {
                      text-align:center;
                      }
                      Otherwise I Love too your test film from KPN : extremely long traffic jam on the road to Avignon laugh

                      (I have removed the email address of the footer to avoid spam )
