Welcome to The Flora of Svalbard.

It goes public on friday, but I just tell You about it now. There is still some things to do with it, like the ajaxsearch_output-cssproblem in MSIE7, on the right side. But it will be solved.

The site contains only maps of recordings of species and some pictures at the moment, but it will be built up with more pictures and descriptions of the all the species during the winter, and will be completed during summer 2008 (hopefully with 0.97.

    Comments are welcome.

Your site design looks somewhat familiar...

This is not an excuse, it more like some Kind of explanetion. I should have answered this a long, long time ago; I tried to answer via email, but they only came "in return". This an old case now, but it still hurts. For me.

I had a designer on this project at the time who said he made a good design for the Flora. And (to the original designers credit) I liked it very well, and used it. Till the original designer game me a clue about the rip of.

My designer is history on this project long ago, he was fired. And I do really appologise for the hole thing. I really do.

The new design on the Flora is made by my self, from the very first html and css, to every bit of graphic. And I will be very carefull about designs made for me by others in the future.

        Best regards

          Bjørn,

I wouldn’t worry about this. It happens all the time. It is just that it was a very high profile site. Dave Shea is one of the better known designers out there. It is better to steal or borrow from one of the most talented vs using one of the horrible template sites from Monster that works poorly and wouldn’t validate.

BTW I didn’t tell Dave if he found out it was someone else’s doing.

          Cheers,

          Jay

PS: I thought you were just embarrassed and didn’t want to come back but it seems as though it was an innocent mistake. -Jay

This design IS better. Nothing like a custom fit suit grin

it’s pretty good. I’d suggest making titles not go all the way across in width...To me it makes it seem like a big page elements rather than the title. Overall good flow, but seems to be a lot going on and sorta confusing to work with. But since it’s your first design I’d say very much job well done wink

on SAfari 3, the ’Last updated:’ header is on top of the link below it. I like the design though!

I wouldn’t get too excited over Safari 3 issues, it’s well-known to be broken. I rather imagine there will be updates for it eventually.
