I posted this site, my personal site, sometime back. Just recently, I completely overhauled the look, layout, and interface of the entire site. It was a real thrill to see how flexible MODx was, how drastically different I could present the content on my site from the prior iteration. I’ve had no regrets, and nothing but greater and greater assurance that MODx is the best CMS and framework in the world, since I adopted it approximately 2 years ago.

All comments and feedback are welcome, negative or positive. I’d love not only to hear your opinion, but also any issues that you have, display issues, usability issues, or anything else.

Good stuff all around, and a gorgeous new baby (congrats) smiley

Good photography (nice lighting and DOF), good gallery implmentation, fun illustrations, interesting words.

All adds up to a great job. laugh

The site looks great, I really like the design.

I like the thunbnails for the pictures, much better than the typical square images.

            Simply Stunning!

I noticed the url schemes at your site is like WP has, how did you do that? a series of containers or what?

            Thanks smiley

Wow, thanks for the kind words, everyone. I was really happy with the way this new look and layout turned out, so I’m thrilled to see everyone responding to it so well.

Ryan, thanks, regarding my site and regarding my son. He’s our first baby, so we’re all about him.

Kyle, thanks a lot, and yeah, I’ve always liked wide screen thumbnails. They don’t always do the trick, but in the right place, they are very effective.

Derrick, thanks a lot, man, and thanks for the comment on my site! That scores big points with me. wink

Zi, wow, I’m thrilled that you like it. When you say "like WP", what do you mean? I know you mean Wordpress, but how are my URL’s like WP? I have friendly alias paths turned on in my config, and I have a lot of categories and subcategories, which makes for some pretty interesting paths in my URLs. Is that what you mean?

Great design, I agree, great job (me and myself, I’m still breaking my head over setting up a blog like yours...) - although there’s one point I’m not humble enough to make: when clicking a link in the Web Development category your footer interferes with the left column (http://www.tiltedsymmetry.com/ts/Portfolio/Web-Development/whirling-wheel-pottery-studio.html).

                regards, egorbrandt

Oh, i thought you used some kind of custom plugin to handle such detailed urls smiley ... but you created containers to achieve it.

Thanks for the heads-up. At first, I didn’t see what you were talking about, which was blowing my mind, because I checked it on all browsers on the Windows and Mac platform. Then the obvious occurred to me this morning; you must be looking at it on a smaller screen.

The problem should be fixed now. Thanks again. smiley

don’t put the blame on the little ones... small is beautiful, though I never realized my screen to be disproportionally so, until it met your big footer rolleyes that is.
