openId/google/facebook/twitter/.... login system

Hi,

Maybe an integated login system would be great.
so you could log in with facebook/google/openID/twitter.... on a modx site.

are there plans for something like that?

Jason has it working with RPXNow on his site: http://opengeek.com

We just need to release a package for it for Revo.

Any idea if it’s coming soon?

I need a similar system and i would be happy to make a package out of Jason work if he’s interested.

I did an OpenID package for Revo a while back, http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,7501.msg275604.html#msg275604 for the thread, forgotten about this actually, I think we were going to integrate it into the Login component rather than leave it standalone.

I’ll get back to the Janrain Engage (formerly RPXNow) integration I’ve done for http://www.jasoncoward.com/ this week (it works great, but needs some additional user management tools and various options for dealing with things like consolidating the same identity from multiple providers), and also will be talking about the benefits and problems with using an external service like this versus dealing with each OAuth provider directly.
