I really do need to learn how to make a patch...
I am messing around with the concept to see where the best place to add the output on the welcome page (or have more than one option). As soon as I have a working proof of concept I will post it for input.
This may not make it to 1.0 but maybe 1.0.1
Patching is really pretty simple. You’d want to grab a current SVN export to a directory named "evorc" (or whatever). Dupe the export to a new directory ("evorc-mine"), then make the change. Then you’d run a command life unix Diff program like follows:
diff -Naur evorc evorc-mine > mgrLoginDashboard.patch
This will create the file "mgrLoginDashboard.patch" containing your changes in unified context diff format. (See Diff, Patch, and Friends:
http://www.linuxjournal.com/article/1237) The options are as follows:
[*] -u -U NUM --unified[=NUM] Output NUM (default 3) lines of unified context.
[*] -a --text Treat all files as text.
[*] -r --recursive Recursively compare any subdirectories found.
[*] -N --new-file Treat absent files as empty.
We just need the framework in place, not the plugin.
