Why does the forum search go through the entire website!?
There is so much garbage on the actual site that I want to bypass and just find some posts
If I want to find
It brings up a ton of unusable stuff
If the admins at MODx could add inurl:/forums/ to all the search strings im sure it would help a lot of people ex.
This way it will actually search the forums with the forum search

ganeshXL: heh.. didnt notice that... thanks for pointing that out... im an idiot... but the search up there does make it seem like its the one your supposed to use
rthrash: thank you very much!
Good change, although I still think the SMF search is quite weak. I’m often unable to find posts that I know are there even using advanced search. I don’t know anything about the SMF search algorithm or if it’s tweakable or not. I think it never searches within the body of a message and the relevance calculation usually seems pretty far off base compared to, say, a regular Google search.
The Google site search from a forum page always seems to give me unstyled output with links that lead to more unstyled output with no standard forum options (e.g. no way to reply).

yeah, but removing the "printpage" or "wap2" part from the query string is quite easy (i.e. get to the regular web layout page)
Another great tip. Thanks!
