    http://my.opera.com/desktopteam/blog/2007/09/04/go-and-get-opera-9-5-alpha-3

The speed of this alpha is simply amazing. If any of you remember how the 8.0 branches were more responsive than the 9.0-9.2 branches --- it’s seems even faster this time. I’ve yet to have a crash, and I’ve done a lot with it.

There are some bugs (like a Speed Dial preview bug if you import it from 9.23), but nothing major (the View toolbar was removed, though). The Developer Console and DOM Snapshot tools work with this build, btw.

Would be nice if Firefox Developer tool and Firebug work for Opera. If yes, I will switch in no time.

can’t stand Firefox anymore.... so slow.

They have a tool called the "Developer Console". It works a lot like Firebug, but you’ll have to get used to it (it’s a slightly different interface). The link to it is...

I know they have a Web Developer toolbar, but I dunno if that’s the same as the one you’re talking about.

Any news about the flash bug in linux? I really hope Kestrel gets rid of it.

Alway liked opera, but missed FF extensions and Opera widgets are no match... this being said, FF is indeed way to slow...
I’ll try the alpha and chek the dev tool out !

The best I could find was...

Added preliminary support for Flash 9 Beta 2, mplayerplug-in, and other GTK-based plugins by implementing the GTK main loop

I dunno if that has anything to do with that bug, though.

Thanks. I’ll give it a try as soon there is a beta version.

If I may ask, what is mcpuk?
