Maxigallery front end user created galleries [review needed]

I have just posted my first WIKI about how to use MaxiGallery and NewsManager to allow for front-end user created galleries.

This is to allow front end, authorized web users to be able to create gallery pages without having to be logged into the manager.

I am in need of some reviewers for the formating of the WIKI post, let me know how it reads, gramatical errors, etc.

I am also needing some testers to try it out and see if I missed anything or how it works.

I will be working on cleaning it up on Sunday some when I get a chance, but if anyone has any ideas, or corrections, or suggestions, anything, I am open to them!

I hope someone finds this as useful as I did, and I’m glad that I can hopefully contribute this and future items.

ps...Does Kentucky English not count as Native English?

hehe, I didn’t mean that yours was bad.. but..

I suspect Kentuckianic English and my native East Texas Redneck dialect are distant cousins.

Just wondering if anyone has tried this with or without success.

Looks good so far. I’m going to using this for my subscribers on my site and when I’m finished, I’ll you know.

Two suggestions (I hope they don’t sound nitpicky but I’m a bit of a documentation freak):

• If you can, link to your wiki entry in the maxigallery "resources" page. I had no idea this existed until I stumbled upon it by accident.


• add an introduction to your wiki entry that describes what you’re trying to do and how you’re going to do it. It starts off with "important notes" and starts talking about NewsManager right away so I had to double-check the title to make sure I wasn’t reading the wrong wiki entry.

This is exactly what I was looking for. I just setup my site, got gallery installed and started wondering, "How do I give each user their own gallery.." then BAM, this topic shows up in the forums. Thanks!

I thought it was a great tutorial and fairly easy to follow, I got a bit confused when creating the manager and creator pages. It just wasn’t clear to me what purpose they served until I was finished and saw the big picture, maybe if I created the templates(chunks) before creating the pages it would make more sense.

So I’m all done it there’s only one problem that I’ve encountered... my TV doesn’t work. I cannot get the RTE to show up in my form. I’ve double checked everything, the TV is assigned to my templates, user permissions seem to be in order. I must have done something wrong. Any ideas? I can’t test any further as I can’t create any galleries without the editor in place.
