I looked at this a little while ago and it looked fantastic (typical google product huh). However, there were major issues (from memory) regarding the fonts looking badly (and I’m talking really badly) rasterised in Windows (7 ?) and Vista with IE, something to do with Win cleartype interfering with anti-aliasing I think? There were solutions including disabling cleartype in IE but that created other issues.
Can anyone confirm if this is still the case as I’d love to try this product out on a website or two. The graphic designer (who hates current webfonts with a scary passion) whom I do regular work for will be having babies just thinking of the possibilities!
I can confirm that many (but not all) of the fonts in the linked page look like crap in Vista on my 20" monitor at 1680 x 1050 in both IE7 and FF 3.6.8.
When I look at the example for Droid Sans on the google page, the bottom of a lower case "g" seems clipped. This being on Vista and with FF 3.6.8
But on the second link provided, the lower case "g" on the titles seems to render fine, even though it appears to me that Droid Sans is being used there as well.
So either I don’t appreciate something about the rendering of the fonts on the second link, or google isn’t putting its best foot forward on the example page. Maybe I’m missing something ...

They look much better than the Google fonts on my machine. And I think they’re nicer fonts too.
i hope one day it can support hieroglyph like chinese…
