Drop Down Content

Maybe I’m using the wrong phrase but I’m having trouble finding something that will do this in a MODx environment.

I want to click on a line of text and have a drop down box appear to a set height and width that contains further information. I know it will be Ajax based but I just seem to find the right thing - any ideas?

Firstly - many thanks to dev_cw for pointing me in the direction of something that works better then the example I saw and secondly (now I’m in front of the right computer) here is the link to the example I saw:

If you click on the "Site Plan & Plot Details" you’ll see what I mean. I’m not that impressed with the example I’ve given but it does the job.

I’m most familiar with MooTools, so I try to stick to using Moo stuff when possible. Have a look at these urls, hopefully helpful.

I think the jquery method just edges it - a bit more sophisticated.

I do think jQuery is more webdesigner friendly... mootools is nice but the documentation is nerdy and the attitude at their forums is not particularly welcoming to beginners... my 2 cents

I am a JQuery fan. Very easy to use and learn.

This demo/tutorial is what got me started, and it features the slide in/out effect.

After your suggestions I tried the clueTip / Jquery approach with some success but at the moment I’m stumped!

Here’s the page I’m testing:

When you mouse over one of the plot numbers it shows a ’sticky’ which is fine but then when you click on the link it is supposed to bring up the details - works in IE7, newer versions of Safari, FF but fails in IE6.

Any suggestions as to how to debug would be gratefully received!

Problem solved - duplicate Base URL calls was the problem. one in the document doing the calling and one in the document being called.
