    I’ve just installed Modx 0.9.6.1p2 and getting my head around it, so I suspect I’ll be back here a bit going forward but as a start:
    on admin login, I’ getting a windows alert saying "Location: http://localhost/usrc/manager/" rather than actually being logged in.

    Any idea why that header not being processed?
    I’ve tried a hard-coded
    header("Location http://www.google.com");
    in manager/index.php - which works... which suggests it is not my browser (IE7)

    if I then refresh the login / manager page, it opens up the manager pages, but saving any changes is a problem - accesscontrol.inc.php doesn’t like me >:(

    Any suggestions?

      Never heard of this one; some details about your environment might help us better diagnose the problem.

        I’m using IIS (6?) with PHP 5.2.1 and MySql 5.0.51b. (IE 7 browser on an MS XP Pro - relevant?)

        I think I have tracked a little further into the problem: The redirect is coming from /processors/login.processor.php (line 277) which means the $id varibale is not set at this point by the previous two lines of code (I’m not sure it should be, but it isn’t ;-) )

        $tbl = $modx->getFullTableName("user_settings");
        $id = $modx->db->getValue("SELECT setting_value FROM $tbl WHERE user=’$internalKey’ AND setting_name=’manager_login_startup’");

        So using MySQLAdmin to check "user _settings" table shows me it is empty. Then we go to: IF $_POST(’ajax’) == 1 ... and it seems like there are some squiggly brackets missing in these IF statements - but even fixing that does not help: the header is still being shown in an alert box rather than being processed.

              This sounds like an issue with permissions and running on IIS. I’ve moved this topic to the IIS forums for followup from some other IIS users.

                  The problem solved by hacks of login.html (manager/media/style/[MODx or MODxGreen or MODxLight depends on manager theme]/login.html)
                  line 32
                  Find javascript function ajaxReturn()
                  var header = text.substr(0,9);

                  Replace with
                  var header = text.replace(/^[\s]+/,'').substr(0,9);

                  In my case problem was in PHP-FastCGI, it added tab symbol to start of header sad

                    *blink*

                    Ok, that’s interesting. Thanks for the research and problem-solving bessangel. It is very much appreciated.

                      It doesn’t seem to be an IIS related issue. I am running on Apache/Linux and have the same.
                      modx version 0.9.6.3 (upgrade from 0.9.6.1(?) )

                      Any idea?
