I am thinking on selling domains as an added service and I have been searching for them
but it is a mess. Too many registrars, too many resellers, to many fees and they attack each
    other.

    Any advice on
    a) a good reseller company? (I’ve checked enom and WWD)
    b) a cheap reseller, I just need domains, not all the other stuff they try to sell you... API is best...
    c) a good and cheap reseller? impossible???

    THanks in advance...

I’d suggest reading or asking from Webhostingtalk or some other hosting related forum.

I guess ENOM is ok, and Joker has been popular in Finland. I’ve not been doing this myself, though.

Yes, thanks, I already ask there...
So far one of the best ones are wildwestdomains and 12register...
others like enom ask for a huge deposit for low price domains...
        still looking.....

I believe Wildwestdomains.com is GoDaddy, which offers great DNS management tools. I’m a huge fan of GoDaddy as they make making changes simple and don’t nickel and dime you at every turn.

yep, they are the domains arm of GoDaddy.
I think I am going with them as they just ask for a small deposit and
an XML APi... the only draw back is that the API account costs $250 which
makes the first year of business a loss if I do not get enough clients to register
            with me!!

I aquired my Reseller account years ago when I purchased mondernbill software, however other billing companies offer clients domain reseller accounts such as WHMCS: http://www.whmcs.com/partners.php

So you could for example signup for their product for a month or two, obtain your reseller account and then cancel the product, although WHMCS is an excellent product for managing billing and customers.

              Hope that helps

I use enom through WHMCS which is a great deal (no deposit required), but you must have an active account with WHMCS to retain your enom account. I would suggest buying a licensed copy of WHMCS then you have enom and maxmind free to automate things...

It works great for reselling hosting too! Oh, check with your host as some such as host gator offer both WHMCS and enom free for resellers.

                  Hello,

I will suggest go for Enom, there service is really fast and much easier the any other registrar.

                    I found this amusing:

I put in an estimate for selling 1 domain name a month at $7.99 and got this projection.

                    Here are your potential Earnings!
Year Annual Sales Annual Profit Running Profits
                    1 $103.83 ($194.30) ($194.30)
                    2 $191.68 ($183.75) ($378.05)
                    3 $263.55 ($168.33) ($546.38)
                    4 $319.44 ($148.05) ($694.43)
                    5 $367.34 ($122.65) ($817.08)
                    6 $407.25 ($92.13) ($909.21)
                    7 $439.17 ($56.49) ($965.70)
                    8 $463.10 ($15.74) ($981.44)
                    9 $487.03 $30.37 ($951.07)
                    10 $510.96 $81.86 ($869.21)

Includes a private registration at $7.95/yr for 10% of domains sold.
And the profits keep coming - year after year!

                      Hi Bob,

The figures you have listed do not make sense, if you sell a domain name per month for 12 months for $7.99 but it cost you $7.95 thats only £0.05 profit per month.

From experience there is not much profit to be made in selling domain names and to remain competitive.
