SWF won't work in MODx??

I have a page that incorporates two different SWF’s. Here is the page without MODx...

Here it is in the MODx environment. I worked with a guy very familiar with MODx to make the section work as it wasn’t seeing the file.
Now it appears to be seeing the file, but not playing the SWF? The text to the left on the MODx version isn’t set up yet as it’s just an image for now.

I’m beyond frustrated huh

I tried this every which way. Is there a plug-in or something I’m suppose to install, or something I’m just plain ol’ missing??

I see... the path that you have is correct, but last week I swore it was working there?? Hummm... Let’s see something.
I have adjusted the XML file prior... let me see if I can get that path for it working first...

Do I have to adjust this?

I am not using the SWFobject plug-in. That is what somebody else told me to try, but I didn’t think it should matter.
You can view the images right here... so it’s finding that, just not letting the SWF play...

Remember that all MODx requests are to the index.php file at MODX_BASE_URL. This means all requests and sub-requests made by resources loaded on that page, are running from MODX_BASE_URL. IOW, you need to specify the full path to those images or it’s looking for them at MODX_BASE_URL . ’images/’ and finding nothing.

Is that what you are saying to do? I had tried that to some effect earlier with no luck, and it isn’t working here either. I have changed it various ways in the chunk as well to find it. It seems to be loading the file, but still not finding the images.

First off... I should make sure that all files are put in the ASSETS/IMAGES folder correct? Nothing in the root.

The images should be where you put them; you just need to make sure the paths the SWF is consuming are what it expects in order to be able to find those files.

Ok.. as you can see I’m so bamboozled with this I’m second guessing everything. I’m about ready to throw the towel, I don’t think this is going to work.

I’ve done this a number of times with swfs; here is an example from the most recent one I did (I generate this XML from a MODx Resource to feed the swf):

<header id="alias" textTop="Top text here" textBottom="Bottom text here" imagePath="/" fadeDelay="5" fadeTime="3" loop="true">
<img src="assets/images/flash_header/image1.jpg" bytes="38854" />
<img src="assets/images/flash_header/image2.jpg" bytes="32991" />
<img src="assets/images/flash_header/image3.jpg" bytes="29024" />
</header>

This was using the swfobject js, like so:

	flashvars.xmlUrl = "header.xml?rid=1";

	var attributes = {};

So it can definitely work; you just have to know what paths are expected by the swf.
