      Perfect spot for this discussion kongondo. Keep in mind that Evolution is up next and some fun plans will be put in place for that ASAP. For everyone, please upgrade to this release; it’s a big leap under the hood and much more secure.

      Revolution keeps most of the same principals that make modx special in tact, but does so with a (to use an over-used marketingspeak) more robust foundation. You’ll be able to upgrade your sites from earlier MODx releases, so don’t hesitate to start projects today in 0.9.6.2. Like smashingred said on Twitter, MODx has been a 1.0 equivalent since 0.9.2.1, and we agree.

      NEW ------> Revolution

        I sign under the same Big Thank You as the start of this thread. laugh

            I agree! Congrats everyone. I just upgraded my site (which I just got ported to 0.9.6.1 laugh ) and followed the Wiki Upgrade Process... worked flawlessly laugh

            Thumbs Up!

            One thing I want to make sure is that the home page (http://www.modxcms.com) has an updated download image, right now it says "Download 0.9.6.1"

                It’s really cool to see the community’s excitement is very much alive (as it should be, a very nice update indeed !) and as Ryan says lots of things coming up with Evolution and Revolution... update and stay tuned ! Don’t hesitate to give Revolution a test run too, get your feet wet right now to be ready when it hits beta and production status grin

                Thanks for the feedback but also for helping making MODx what it is today cool

                (Yeah well, it’s group hug time but hey, we ain’t gonna miss this, it’s deserved ! tongue )

                  OK here’s the big question..

                  I’ve been away (from CMSing) for about a year and now need to start over on a new server etc. I have an old (small) MODx site on 0.9.5...

                  I don’t want to upgrade, but I’ll just manually shift over the content .... but what to? Should I install 0.9.6.2 or wait for Revolution (or whatever its called - I’ve only just read about it today), or even install it straight up...

                  Cheers

                  Gordon

                    You can safely upgrade to 0962, or start fresh with 0962. This 0962 branch is going to stay for sometime...

                      Well, it’s no longer the absolute truth. I have big problems with special caracters according to my language, æ ø å in norwegian, special in the manager, even if I use english as the back-end language. I will find out more about it and post it on the right place. huh
