hi all,
i have done a very stuppid thing and deleted my database - anyway of retrieving it?
Contact your host right away - they hopefully have backup!!
//Don’t post online db-username on public forums...
Go for the restore from backup first as advised above, if you have no backup you may still be lucky depending.
How did you delete it? Did you drop it for instance? try here

WOW no backup?
I would check their backup policy to make sure all your stuff is being backed up, it should be a standard for all hosting companies to backup mysql databases and website files.
I guess the only exception would be if you are on a dedicated of vps server then the backup would be your responsibility.
i am reseller of their service - helped me before wit ha backup but not sure why not this time?
trying to get into the /var/lib/mysql/nameofdb not sure where to look
from what i can see through dreamweaver the modx files look to be their - anyway of replicating the database name/passwords and it connects up again?
sorry about the posting db
If you really are - edit your first post and remove the
username then.

Normally in /var/lib/mysql you would see folders which are your database names, or sometimes it is stored in a sub folder called /var/lib/mysql/data/yourdbname
When you get chance definitly check with your host about backups most hosts do a daily backup with some form of retention.
