I'm surprised just how difficult it is to find a definitive way to move a WordPress blog over to an existing MODX installation. My website currently uses resources stored inside collections and are displayed throughout with getResources or pdoTools, depending on the usage (so, not using Articles).
I have about 6-7 older WordPress blogs that I'd like to explore the option of migrating into one existing platform. I'd rather not use Articles if at all possible to keep the CMS interface standard for our standard users.
Does anyone have any suggestions of tools to use or recent tutorials anywhere that explain this process? It's hard to imagine that this isn't a more common issue.
Thank you!
If you have PHP skills, you could possibly modify the Articles import code to work with Collections. It might be as simple as changing the 'class_key' field to 'modResource' (or whatever Collections uses) and putting your collections parent ID in the 'parent' field (or it might not).

Disclaimer: I haven't had the misfortune of the process, so I cannot guarantee this will work:

There used to be a number of people who posted on the topic. The posts are a bit buried in Google now.
Is using a CSV file an option?
Is it just a list of pages or is it a tree?
I'm working on trying this. But I'm not sure about something. How do you install or run this code fro xPDO? Is it a plugin or something else?
They are two separate snippets. Just create two snippets with the code in them, call them WPConvert1 and WPConvert2.
Then create a resource with just this tag and view it:
Then change the tag to this, save it, and view it again:
I would back up the MODX DB first.
The first Snippet worked perfectly, everything loaded after editing the snippet to include the localhost's password.
However the second Snippet doesn't. I keep getting a 500 Server Error. I'm not sure why.
