ClientConfig - Cannot create settings

Hi.
I have just installed ClientConfig on a site.
I can Add groups no problem, but when i try to create a setting and hit save, nothing happens, and the setting isn't created.
I have tried reinstalling the Extra, but it doesn't work.
Interestingly, when I uninstall, and remove the package, then re-install it, the original Groups I created are still there - so I manually removed all tables from the DB which contained any relation to clientConfirg (there were two - Groups and Settings).

Then, after reinstalling it still doesn't work.

There's nothing in the error log - any ideas what it could be?

UPDATE: I've just noticed that the client's server is running PHP 5.3.3 - Could this be the cause??

5.3.3 is the minimum for the current version of Revolution, so it should be good.

Make sure you have the latest version of ClientConfig. The latest commit (9 months ago) has this comment: Restore PHP 5.3 compatibility in creating settings.

So there could be an issue with 5.3.3. It's also possible (though unlikely) that that latest commit isn't in the package yet so you could check the code here. Its a one-line change, and the commit gives the file location, so it should be easy to check.

Thanks Bob as ever - The changelog file says this:

++ ClientConfig 1.4.1-pl
++ Released on 2017-02-02

Which looks as though it's the latest version - although when checking the line change in the create.class.php file - it's the old version?

The server permissions won't allow me to edit the file though - I have tried downloading the zip from Github and uploading it, but it says it's not a transport package.

I will see if we can get the latest version uploaded to the extras repository.

^^ As Bob suggested, the culprit is probably the PHP version. You shouldn't really develop a website on such an old version of PHP. 5.3 was released 8 years ago and it hadn't been supported for 3 years! So that will put your website at a security risk. Force your client to update.

Yep - I have been trying to get the upgrade through - easier said than done though! lol

At many hosts, you can upgrade PHP from cPanel, so you might check that out.

This host doesn't even have the option to upgrade at all! Moving hosts I think!! LOL

Cheers Bob - I assume these are all US based though? I might take a hit on performance if so, as I'm in the UK. Thanks though!
