I just upgraded my install to the latest version. The upgrade went smoothly without an errors.

Now when I go to log in with any account, the login is successful (I don't get any error messages saying the password is incorrect) but the login screen is still present.

When I try an incorrect password, that is indicated on the form. What would cause the login form to always show?

I tried to manually clear the cache directory in the core but that didn't seem to help.

Any guidance would greatly be appreciated.

What is the url displayed when the login screen returns?

Assuming you have a resource that has an id of '1' what happens if you change your url to

      https://yourdomainname.com/manager/?a=resource/update&id=1

Does this issue still remains after clearing the cache? Delete all content in CORE/CACHE folder. Maybe some old reference is present in cache.

          Thanks for the replies.

Yes, I cleared out core/cache but it didn't help.

I ended up re-copying the files and re-running the setup. After that everything was working again so likely something happend while I was copying the files the first time.

            • are you using Friendly URLs?

I have a similar issues of having a login with multiple contexts. The member section is only for one of the contexts thou. I have noticed that the issue of it not working is more related to friendly urls. As when they are disable every thing works....
However when using friendly urls none of the snippets related to the login plug will work. Currently not sure as to the cause.

I also have problems since there is an update on the new apache and mysql, maybe the modx core needs to adjust to the latest update of these two components

A couple more things to try:

First, visit with your browser in incognito or private mode. A leftover cookie or something in the browser cache could cause the problem.

Second, try repairing all tables in the DB with PhpMyAdmin (select all tables and use the "With Selected" drop down at the bottom of the grid).

If you had the first problem, it could have corrupted a table.

If private or incognito mode solves your problem, deleting the browser cache and cookies should solve it permanently.
