    Hi,

I've just upgraded to 2.5.1 but I'm unable to edit pages or create working user accounts.

When I click on a resource to edit I see a blank screen, and the new user I created does get a manager page (stays on the login page) although the admin can see successful log ins.

In the past this sort of thing has been hosting issues but they hosts say they can't see anything. That said, they have been bought out which could be an issue.

    Any thoughts ?

    Best

Ohhhh your not with site 5 are you :0

Try deleting everything in the core cache folder, if that doesnt work try setting compress_js and compress_css to 0 in the database and then deleter the core cache again

An outfit called tsohost in the UK. By coincidence they used to be 5-quid hosts smiley

I've tried both of those, using the system settings to amend those compress settings, but with no luck. I used ftp to delete the cache files to be sure !

I would probably try uploading all the files again then and re running setup in upgrade mode, something may have become corrupt somewhere

            Thanks Paul,

I'm just waiting on the hosts to get into gear. In the past it's been a security setting issue but I just wanted to check there wasn't a known issue with this upgrade.

The install went fine and the front end of the site seems to function as required.

Did you try clearing the browser cache and cookies? A leftover cookie can cause odd behavior in a Manager after an update.

Cheers Bob. It turns out that it was the result of the TinyMCE issue on the recent update. I did read the update note but didn't realise it would break it in the way it does.

However, I'm still suffering the log-in issue with a user I've created but I'm wondering if that's an issue with the way I've created the user over any s/w issue.

It never hurts to rerun setup and manually delete all the files in the core/cache directory.

Also, make sure your user belongs to a user group with a Context Access ACL policy that allows access to the mgr context.

Cheers Bob, So to re run manually I'd copy unzip and move the files into the root, and then run the set-up routine ? Delete the core\cache manually before hand.

Thanks for the heads up on the user setting. I'll double check.

No, just upload the setup directory (from the exact same version of MODX).

                      Then run setup.

Another way (maybe better) would be to download and install the UpgradeMODX extra, set the current version back to 2.5.0, and "upgrade" to 2.5.1. That will give you all new files and it will delete the core/cache files for you.

BTW, in my experience, about seven times out of ten, Manager issues after an upgrade are caused by leftover browser cookies. The other three are caused by mod_security issues.
