Media Sources URL from TV-Value

Hello MODx Forum,

i need your help with a snippet again.

I have a resource with the tv="mynumber", tvid="410", value="12345"

I created a media source, which should automatically have the path "assets/images/12345" (even if the resource is shown on other sites via PDOresources).

My Media Source basePath: assets/images/[[getmyTV]]
My Media Source baseURL: assets/images/[[getmyTV]]

mySnippet getmyTV (suggested by BobRay):

return $modx->resource->getTVValue('mynumber');

Unfortunately, i get the ERROR:

Code: 200 OK
Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on a non-object in /.../core/cache/includes/elements/modsnippet/100.include.cache.php on line 2

Bruno suggested this solution, but it didnt work:

[[migxResourceMediaPath? &tvname=`identnr` &pathTpl=`assets/images/{tv_value}/`]]

Hi,

I don't see what you want to do with $resid and $page since you only return the MyNumber TV.
I'm also not sure you can have dynamic Mediasource paths if thats what your aiming for

The question is whether the tag in the Media Source tag will be interpreted at run time (or ever). As Ralph suggests, I'm almost sure it won't.

Do you really need a dynamic Media Source here? If the Media Source for the user is a particular directory (say assets/images/), you could use the TV as the final path to the image in the img tag.

your snippet will not work. Many missing parts.
You will need a snippet like

migxResourceMediaPath to get it working at Manager and at Frontend.

Did you add my new additions?
What are your issues with migxResourceMediaPath?

Short info about my idea:
In the future there will be many users and every user will only have access to one resource. Therefore every resource needs its own media source, so that the users dont have access to the files of other users. Because of the large number of users the media sources need to be generated automatically.

My try with migxResourceMediaPath:

basePath: [[migxResourceMediaPath? &tvname=`mynumber` &pathTpl=`assets/images/{tv_value}/`]]
baseUrl: [[migxResourceMediaPath? &tvname=`mynumber` &pathTpl=`assets/images/{tv_value}/`]]

When i try upload a picture: ERROR (cant find the folder "{tv_value}"

you did also change the snippet itself or just that file?

you need to change just the snippet itself, not the file. The file is only used on package-installation.

My fail. I see the picture now in the resource self, but it doesn't work with the PDO like this:

PDO:

[[!pdoResources? &parents=`12` &tpl=`mytpl`]]

"mytpl" Chunk

<div class="pic">
   <img src="[[!lingua.getValue? &id=`[[+id]]` &field=`picture`]] ">
</div>

(media source on tv "picture")

Result in HTML:

</div>

Any idea?

In this case, you will need to add the path by yourself

something like that, if it is in a getResources-tpl:

<img src="assets/images/[[+tv.mynumber]]/[[!lingua.getValue? &id=`[[+id]]` &field=`picture`]] ">

I see, you are getting nothing, then is something wrong with that one:

[[!lingua.getValue? &id=`[[+id]]` &field=`picture`]]

if the TV has a value, this should return something.

I tested the tv's again:

[[!lingua.getValue? &id=`[[+id]]` &field=`mynumber`]]

I get the right value: 12345

[[!lingua.getValue? &id=`[[+id]]` &field=`picture`]]

I get this path: assets/images//myimage.jpg

The question is now, it is possible to combine this both values in:

assets/images/12345/myimage.jpg ?
