I would like to be able to give the administrators the possibility to approve a user. So the user registers by supplying his email address and full name (if he wants), the username will be his email address. Then there should go an email to an administrator that the user wants to be approved. If the administrator approves, the user gets an email with a password, which he can change when he is logged in.

I searched my way around webloginpe, and found out it has the functionality to let a user register, and then send him an email with password to make sure the email is allright. It doesn’t give any admin approval though:(

Searching the internet showed me the webloginpe google project, where this is a feature request since october 2008. Since it is not implemented yet, I don’t think there will be an implementation soon.

Therefor I want to try to achieve this myself. I was thinking to create a plugin that invokes on the event OnWebSaveUser. This plugin will put an extra value in the db, named validated, and puts it to false, it will also block the user. It will notify the administrator, and disables the further process.

The administrator gets an email and will login to the manager to use a module to approve the user. The module will put the validated to true and blocked to false. It wil generate a password for the user and sends it to the user.

You are the guys that know all about webloginpe, is this doable? For myself the hardest point is to disable the process of registering by a plugin. Any thoughts on this part?

Thanks in advance,

Jurrian]]>

<![CDATA[WebloginPE Multiselect not working with &type=`manager`]]> https://forums.modx.com/thread/92707/webloginpe-multiselect-not-working-with-type-manager#dis-post-506673
I am using webloginpe 1.4.1 with the inputHandler create multiselect lists.

Works great on the login and create profile pages.

But on the manager page which the admin uses to fix peoples accounts the multiselect wont pull in the selections if there are a few options picked.

So normal select lists work, its only the multiselect lists when a few options are picked. If only one option is picked from the multiselect its also fine.

The multiselect also seams to save to the database not matter what, so thats working. It just not setting the selected="selected" if there are a few options.

All three forms are the same between the login, sign up and manager pages.

Any ideas? See call below:

A few questions though: how can I submit this to the add-on that is available on the MODx site itself? To which user do I have to sent this package then? And I also saw there’s a 1.3.2 beta available on Google Code? What’s up with that?

I’ve tried a solution posted in this thread with wrapping webloginpe class file, but it didn’t work for me.

I have webloginpe 1.3.2 with instances 3, I do have multiple calls of WLPE on a single page, but that’s not the case because if I leave one call on a page or assign an &id=`` to each of the calls - mistakes don’t disappear. I also use one WLPE call inside of another and removing it doesn’t help too.

I also have PHP 5 server and the Kalender Enhanced snippet installed with an OverLib JavaScript on my website (if that’s related somehow).

could anyone please help me? i’m thrilled cuz my MySQL database crashes once in while of being filled with 200Mb+ of errors in the event log.

<![CDATA[Show Extended User attribues in Backend]]> https://forums.modx.com/thread/71035/show-extended-user-attribues-in-backend#dis-post-436783
Now my issue is this:

In the modx if you go to Security->Web Users you can see the users that are registered in these tables, however any value or field that is set in the 'web_user_attributes_extended' does not show up here.

So say i am adding an address in 3 fields (street, city, postcode). These are not present in the 'web_user_attributes' table and so i am adding them into the 'web_user_attributes_extended'.

Although everything works perfectly fine for the end user, these values do not show up in the Security->Web Users and are therefore un-viewable/un-editable by the site admin.

How can i get all fields in the 'web_user_attributes_extended' table to show up in the backend when you click on a particular web user.

I'm sure there must be some sort of solution for this..

Thank you]]>

<![CDATA[WebLoginPE and Custom Page/Rail Elements]]> https://forums.modx.com/thread/75646/webloginpe-and-custom-page-rail-elements#dis-post-418949
Here is what I am doing.

My layout consists of 2 primary divs - the Left Rail and Main Content

PageX is accessible only to registered users who are logged in (using WebLoginPE)

1. A user comes to the login page and either logs in or creates an account and then logs in

2. After log in, the user is sent to PageX (&liHomeId=`509`)

3. PageX relegates the WLPE snippet to the Left Rail

4. A user who goes to PageX directly without being logged in gets an error page

Very simple. And that't what the site is doing when a user follows the initial link.

Here are the problems I'm trying to solve:

1. If a user is already logged in and returns to the login page, they get the Welcome Back message with "View/Edit Profile" and "Log Out" buttons, but they are not taken to PageX, nor do they have anyway to navigate to it as it is not a link in any of the menus UNTIL you get to PageX

- How can I push the user back to PageX?
- Can I create a block of content that is hidden to unregistered users? This would be the ideal solution if I could. I don't see any way to limit Chunk access to certain groups. Maybe I need to create a snippet. I need to include the WLPE snippet in the Rail in order to provide access to the user profile and log out. Can a snippet reference another snippet?

2. Going to an error page when trying to view unauthorized pages isn't useful to the end user.

- Can I create page or container specific error pages?
- If a user goes to PageX without authorization, can I redirect them to the create an account page rather than my default error page?

Any suggestions/help is appreciated.
