You and Your Sites - MODX Community Forums <![CDATA[Game Development Blog]]>
I’ve left the web design world now for video game design, but every now and then I create a new site for whatever reason.

This site is a development blog for my new games design studio. It’s pretty simple really and only utilises Ditto, Jot and some PHx tom foolery. Just thought I’d share.

Indie Games Blog

I don’t really like the full width article listing but I’ll probably change the whole design from the ground up when we have a bit more content.

Thanks,]]> Wed, 05 Dec 2018 07:22:58 +0000

There are potentially some issues in earlier versions of IE which I will address shortly.

Thanks for taking a look. laugh

EDIT: I also recently created this site using Revo. It features a custom booking form (using the great FormIt). Big thanks to Cipa for helping with the form. smiley]]> Wed, 03 Jul 2013 01:46:52 +0000
<![CDATA[The National Trust Art Gallery]]>
Trelissick Gallery presents shows from leading contemporary landscape artists, located within the tranquil Trelissick Gardens the Gallery offers a mixed programme of solo exhibitions throughout the year from established and newly emerging artists. Also, an active programme of practical and demonstration workshops.

The website was previously launched using eZ Publish, following our migration to modx we have redeveloped the Trelissiak Gallery website using the DirectResize and Ditto plugins.

We have found modx to be very flexible, helping us to streamline work-flow.]]> Wed, 03 Apr 2013 10:34:49 +0000
<![CDATA[New modx user - portfolio site]]>

First site using modx, or any cms. Very easy to use coming from a designer standpoint.
Look forward to using modx on future projects.

<![CDATA[Dynamic Flash Website in Evo]]>
We have just launched a hybrid website, partly flash and partly html, which we have built using Modx Evo. The whole website is fully dyanmic, including the Flash in which case XML is based on Modx Ditto Snippet etc etc. Anyway, enough with the chatter.

The showcase website is for Romain Negre, a professional phtographer based in France.

Take a look at: and tell me what you think grin

<![CDATA[E-Commerce Membership / User Login Module & redesign of existing site]]>
At the same time as integrating this, due to the complexity of the previous site’s navigation it was agreed that a re-design should incorporate a cleaner and simpler design.

The membership module works by potential subcribers paying for their membership, the "shop" used is simple and efective, and utilises the client’s PayPal Business Account, once Payment is made the user is automatically directed back to a page on the site where they can register, on completion of the registration, they are then able to login to view the premium resource material.

As for In-House reconcilliation and administration the system produces & notifys client by email of new users.

By going into the backend Manager those with administration rights can view the Subscribers details and if needed change passwords etc

This is done in Evo 1.5 and Webloginpe

<![CDATA[Real Estate Site - Our Biggest MODx Site So Far - Feedback Welcomed]]>

Of note, and this part I’m quite proud of - as well should be the MODx community regarding its powerful SEO when alongside good content - only having launched within about a month or so, the site is placing number 2 on Google on a *highly* sought after keyphrase -> Outer Banks Real Estate. Big up MODx squad.

Some of the agents have (very basic) personally managed subsites, which are also MODx implementations.

Feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks for having a look..

<![CDATA[relaunched site comments welcome]]> I have changed domain names and relaunched my photography website.

It’s at

In the process there have been a few tweaks, some things that didn’t work are fixed. I admit my skills are probably heavily weighted more towards the photography than the web design/coding, but Modx Revo is easy to work with once you get your mind around the basics.

The site has big images & works best in FF. Haven’t been able to work out to successfully scale for smaller monitors, so suggestions would be appreciated there.

Comments & constructive critiques welcome - I’m still learning.

<![CDATA[Tierney; I'm not your typical ranger.]]>
I am an aspiring web designer and developer; I just finished my first miniature design of a login modal, and I’m working on the design for my design (can I say it enough?) web site. I’ve been looking into a few different CMSs lately, and I think I’ve settled on ModX. I come from a background of forums, specifically MyBB forums. I like helping people with their software issues, and I just love software.

I just read an article that compared WordPress and ModX,and I have to say that I was impressed. I’ve been looking for a good, not mainstream CMS lately, and I think I’ve finally decided on ModX.]]> Wed, 18 May 2011 01:42:38 +0000

I’ve been working with numerous payed CMS, which don’t even come close...

We’ve now already made 100’s og sites using MODx.
Here’s our 3 brand new portals - needs a bit og cleaning up in the backend-code though.
They’re all made in Evolution 1.05 with a lot og custom programming, snippets, modules, oop classes, plugins etc.

Sorry for the sites being in danish, but hey smiley

<![CDATA[Distributed MODx - Load Balance / Dev & production]]>
We have begun to heavily modify snippets and chunks, as well as templates and tv’s. I am looking for a way to host a development version of the site and a quick & easy way to "publish" to production. As well as load balance the production among 2 servers. Currently we are getting about 90K visits per day, most of which are handed off to our "login" server to our product. The MODx install is simply a marketing, sales & customer support. Our expected peak this year will be about 275K visits per day. While one server will be able to handle this decent we are looking to load balance for geo diversity and efficiency. My question isn’t how to get the servers in the load balancer. It’s how to effectivly publish MODx on a distributed system and keep it up to date.
