Revolution 2.6 - MODX Community Forums https://forums.modx.com/board/?board=304 <![CDATA[Forcing HTTPS]]> https://forums.modx.com/thread/104898/forcing-https#dis-post-564127
Can anyone advise us with the following please?

We host two modx sites to which we have just applied ssl certificates.

They are acting slightly differently.

The first appears fine as both http and https and is here:

http://restauranttwenty2.co.uk
and
https://restauranttwenty2.co.uk

For this site we are struggling to get the code right which we add to the .htaccess file to force the site to redirect to the https version.
We have tried various but get "too many redirects" amongst other errors.

The second site appears different for the https than it does for the http version as there is an issue with the mixed content and is here:

http://edgarhouse.co.uk/
and
https://edgarhouse.co.uk/

For this site we are struggling to address the missed content issue and as with the first site to get the code right which we add to the htaccess file to force the site to redirect to the https version.
We have tried various but get "too many redirects" amongst other errors.

Any advice with these issues would be much appreciated.

Many thanks

<![CDATA[site_start setting not being affected by context settings]]> https://forums.modx.com/thread/104897/site-start-setting-not-being-affected-by-context-settings#dis-post-564094
From everything I've read, the context settings should be overriding the system setting - I've tried with a few other settings, and those are working properly (it shows the context setting if it's defined, not the system one), but site_start is keeping its value from the System Settings instead. I've also checked the User settings and those are totally blank, so it's not getting set there. Is there something that I've missed that has a higher priority, or might be changing the setting back somehow?

Thanks very much!]]>

<![CDATA[Migx]]> https://forums.modx.com/thread/104873/migx#dis-post-563949 Several days i am cannot resolve an issue with migx.

I wanna create a slider.
I have created the migx tab with fields below.
Therefore have creared tv variable that called slider-image.

At the backend page i can see added images.
But at frontend page everything (title, description etc) renders, except image.
In the code editor, fields of images look <img src(unknown)>
But, if i am removing
&docid=`[[+id]]`
from getImageList then i am seeing:

Can't understand what the root cause of this issue.

<![CDATA[Images in columnar layout -some columns skipped?]]> https://forums.modx.com/thread/104709/images-in-columnar-layout--some-columns-skipped#dis-post-563917 row1 col1 | row1 col2 | row1 col3 | row1 col4
row2 col1 | row2 col2 | row2 col3 | row2 col4

I originally had 7 portraits that filled columns 1-4 on row 1 and columns 1-3 on row 2. I had to remove a couple and add a new one. So, instead of the original 7, I now only have 5. The first four columns of row 1 are filled correctly but the fifth TV is being put into the space for row2 col4 and the preceding columns in row2 (col1-3) are blank. I can't figure out why it is skipping those columns.

I thought it might have been that my menuindex numbers were off but I've updated those to the correct order and it didn't work. (Further investigation showed that it wasn't sorting by the menu index at all, but that's okay.) I've peeked at the css file and I don't see anything that stands out to me as something that would cause this, but I'm not a coder so I could easily be looking in the wrong place. Where should I be looking or can anyone suggest what might cause this issue?

I am learning things as I go along so please explain in layman's terms. Any help is appreciated.]]>

Upgrad instructions say to build your upgrade upon the old installation with directory merging. I would like to avoid that. Is there any instruction with building up the installation direct from the fresh downloaded modx folder? And then manually copy all needed assets etc., to keep the amount of files low that have to be inspected. Any instruction / help on that?]]>

<![CDATA[Inconsistent State Updating Registry]]> https://forums.modx.com/thread/104781/inconsistent-state-updating-registry#dis-post-563502
For instance, I can be working on a resource-5 in context-1, but it shows context-2 expanded and context-1 closed. I can see in my network panel that the action is being sent to update the registry state. Which I can then check stored in cache/registry/state/ys/user-1/modx-resource-tree.msg.php. Most of the time this is updated, but sometimes not. I've also seen some very weird behavior on a page refresh where it overwrites modx-resource-tree.msg.php with effectively a closed tree.

I have seen some variability in the update where whatever JS function that triggers the call doesn't include every node that is open in the tree. But that would be better than it showing a resource panel from 3 page loads ago.

This happens with other users as well, and we do not share user accounts.

This is on a rather large server instance with plenty of resources. Any thoughts would be helpful.

It has been awhile since I've had to tweak my ModX trying to remember all the settings or what I needed to do, so any help would be great. I have some separate sub pages that I created years ago that are just basic HTML and haven't gotten around to making templates or anything in ModX. Anyway as I have the html files upload when you click on the links or go to those sites it just takes me to the front page of my site instead of to the actual html page.

Is there a setting or links etc. in ModX to stop it from taking over my other pages?

Below is the main page with the 3 sites that should be showing up:

<![CDATA[Site Hanging]]> https://forums.modx.com/thread/104566/site-hanging#dis-post-562606
Im new to this type of server so not at all sure about the settings, particularly how Apache/nginx work together to serve files. Could be barking up the wrong tree but my gut feeling is that it's the way Apache/nginx are working: Proxy mode is checked, nginx caching is unchecked.

Any idea of what might be happening?

<![CDATA[ [Wayfinder] how can I show the parent menu for the smartphones]]> https://forums.modx.com/thread/104594/wayfinder-how-can-i-show-the-parent-menu-for-the-smartphones#dis-post-562546
I am building a web site which work fine.
I have menu and submenu

- maison de naissances
-- quelques photos
-- particularités
-- coûts
-- naissances

When I click on "maison de naissances", a page with content is shown.
When I click on a subpage of "maison de naissances", another page is shown.
http://www.dixlunes.ch/maison-de-naissances/
The problem is when the site is seen from a smartphone.
I am using the library Slide Menu
https://github.com/grubersjoe/slide-menu

In a smartphone, when I click on "Maison de naissance", th page is not shown. The menu slides and show the child page and when I click on a child page, the content is shown.

So in a smartphone, the parent link only slides to the child page, and the content is "hidden".

My question, In a smartphone mode, can I told wayfinder to display the parent page above the child page, in the slide-menu?

The best to understand my worries, visit the web site
http://www.dixlunes.ch/maison-de-naissances/
and clisk on the menu and subpage.
Then reduce you navigator and do the same, you will quickly understand and may be you have a solution with Wayfinder (or other) to have the parent page displayed...

Many thank for your help

<![CDATA[MigX & TinyMCE Issue]]> https://forums.modx.com/thread/104586/migx-tinymce-issue#dis-post-562525
It looks like i was a victim of the attacks recently. I only noticed because my migx pages that i used to interact with my databases for content started coming up blank. I was running an older verion. I upgraded to 2.6.5-pl. But that didn't fix it. I also upgraded all my packages and reinstalled migx and tinymce.

Som background. I'm a software dev, my ex built this site for me, and I only ever edited it, so I'm not very familiar with ModX. Basically I have 3 pages accessible with the links: http://sideeffectsacoustic.com/manager/?a=index&namespace=migx&configs=events where "events" is the page name. The modx nav and resources menu loads, but the page is blank. When i select MIGX from the extras drop down, same thing. blank page. If i use chrome console i get the following:

Uncaught ReferenceError: Tiny is not defined

The pages themselves still load and display properly, it's just my backend interface i seem to have lost. I've googled extensively, and can't seem to find a relevant solution.]]>

<![CDATA[config problem after update]]> https://forums.modx.com/thread/104576/config-problem-after-update#dis-post-562475
my routine:
1. doublicated my modx installation folder
2. copied all the upgrade files into the dupe
3. pointed the domain to the new folder
4. run the setup

After that I had some problem with the upgraded installation and found in the config that only
MODX_CORE_PATH
MODX_PROCESSORS_PATH
where updateded to the new path
all other paths still pointed to the old directory
I had to manualy update all paths

Maybe a hint in the upgrade docs to check the config paths could be helpful.]]>

<![CDATA[Server supports only PHP 7 (HostEurope)]]> https://forums.modx.com/thread/104507/server-supports-only-php-7-hosteurope#dis-post-562191
we provide our homepage via HostEurope WebHosting and use MODX as content management system. All is working fine so far!

But next week HostEurope is going to disable PHP 5.x and will only support PHP 7.x. When trying to switch the server's PHP version from 5.6 to 7.x, the part of our homepage which uses MODX can't be used any more (HostEurope error page). Everything else works fine.
The MODX documentation says that PHP 5.3.3 and above is required (refer to https://docs.modx.com/revolution/2.x/getting-started/server-requirements).

Does this mean that PHP 5.x must be run on the server to use MODX? Do we have a chance to use MODX on HostEurope after PHP 5.x was turned off?

Thank you in advance!

I'm trying to make a context for a specific user group "operator", I tried given to this group the Access Permission as "Context", "Only Load" and "Load, List and View" (I tested one by one, not all in the same time) and when I Write the URL of my resource, the page redirect me to my error page, I already try to give the permission to all type of users and the page continue redirecting to the error page.

I'm missing to do something?

(P.s I have 3 weeks working in MODx, sorry if my situation is for a newbie)
