location /manager/ {
    allow 10.10.10.192;
    deny all;
}

Is there a way to prevent ANYONE outside of a designated IP from accessing the website.

My scenario is: I am opening up a website for testing internally and do not want to provide user names for EVERY person. Any help will be appreciated.]]>

<![CDATA[Slow Server - ModxCloud - Page timeouts]]> https://forums.modx.com/thread/104705/slow-server---modxcloud---page-timeouts#dis-post-563614
I'm new to the MODX way of doing things, but I have my site started.
It has a custom domain and four subdmains (5 contexts).

No content other than... Different logo at the top for each context.
Footer is the same on all contexts, but the one has a sub footer as well.

Everything was working fine yesterday.
Late last night we to the site to test and got server/page timeouts.

Same thing today.... even the /manager backend is very slow.

I don't have access to logs or anything....
WHat should I be checking ?]]>

I tried to search for a solution on this but could not find one. My apologies if there was already a post about it.

I just created a MODX cloud account and have the "pro" account level. After account creation, I logged onto the dashboard and tried to create a new cloud. However, the "Location" input is blank and it will not allow me to select anything. When I click on it after the page loads, there is a "loading" prompt that appears for ~1 second and then disappears but nothing happens. I've sent in a ticket and I've also attached a screen shot to this post (the location error has a red border).

Any help/feedback is appreciated.]]>

This works.

However I was wondering how to (or if there was a way?) redirect to a sub folder on that domain?

if ($host = "hub.mydomain.com/save") {

<![CDATA[robots.txt on modxcloud?????]]> https://forums.modx.com/thread/82805/robots-txt-on-modxcloud?page=2#dis-post-544395
The directory structure of Contexts is generated dynamically by modx, so i wonder how i can achive an "mainly" invisible context (for spiders and searchbots) for crazy testing purposes in cloud.

Maybe i have to add some Nginx rules... maybe i can try to do the robots.txt in modx itself?

What the right way to get a invisible context (by searchbots).

Thank you,
with best regards,
Chris

<![CDATA[git workflow on MODX Cloud]]> https://forums.modx.com/thread/80939/git-workflow-on-modx-cloud?page=5#dis-post-543194 I'm pretty new to git, so my ideas could, of course, be totally naive or wrong.

My current idea is this:

  • Have a Dev Cloud which serves as a MODX base template.
  • A git repo for static elements, CSS, Javascripts.
    I store a copy of that repo locally, on bitbucket or gitHub and on the Dev Cloud.
  • Now, I'd like to work on my stuff locally, commit and push those changes up my remote repository (bitbucket/gitHub).
  • Lastly, I want to push everything to the MODX Dev Cloud.
    [edit] this does not yet work. But I can fetch from the Cloud over HTTPS

Does that sound sane or would you do it differently?]]>

<![CDATA[Workaround to edit git config]]> https://forums.modx.com/thread/100447/workaround-to-edit-git-config#dis-post-542844 this tutorial for setting up git with cloud. Problem is the version of git on my cloud is older (1.7.2) than the version in the tutorial (1.7.4 or later). So I don't have the ability to reference "--local" to edit the config. I only have "--global" and "--system" available.

git config --local user.name "Your Name"
git config --local user.email "your@email.com"

Good news is cloud support is going to update my git version. Bad news is they are not going to do it until Tuesday and I don't want to wait until then before I can continue. I'm a newbie, so I'm not sure if there's a way to work around this and edit the config file without "--local". I'd appreciate the help if there is.]]>
