This is one of the best Calendar Plugins I have recently found that is very flexible while not being to complex. There are just hurdles when installing it into newer modx versions. Sucks if so...

I installed MxCalendar 1.10 on modx 2.3.5

After I corrected on different places in "system settings" the namespace from "mxcalendar.*" to "mxcalendars.use_richtext" I got tinyMCE to work.

However, I cannot add an image (or a custom link) to the tinyMCE editor.

When trying to add an image (or a link), it shows a weird Iframe of the whole modxbackend inside an Iframe.

can somebody point me in the right direction ?

mxCalendar totally crashes on newest ModX https://forums.modx.com/thread/97538/mxcalendar-totally-crashes-on-newest-modx#dis-post-527443
I have the ModX 2.3.3.

The mxCalendar seemed kinda promissing. However, when trying to just configure some events, mxCalendar crashes and my browser has to be reloaded.

I only need "month-view" on which one sees a repeating day in one color, and other periods in another color. Not even necessary to make them clickable.

Any hep would be greatly appreciated !

Kind regards

mxCalendar: partially working? https://forums.modx.com/thread/89816/mxcalendar-partially-working?page=3#dis-post-527440
Perhaps it is not correctly installed, because I'm getting quite a number of features not working.

Before I go there, a tip of the hat to charless for making this Extra!

===========================

Calendars:
Default active, set to "No" (there are no events in that calendar), and once you leave mxCalendar and come back in, Default calender is re-set to "Yes" for active. "Default" cannot be made non-active.

When adding a Category, if you put a space in the title, you'll get a freeze when attempting to save. (I did not try this on adding titles for Calendars, but I'll guess the same thing happens here.)

Tried to add an image, tried to add a video. I cannot get either to work.

If I try to add image, I can navigate to an image and select it, but it will not save. On "save" or on "close", a 'ghost' window remains on-screen...

Add Image goes to Create Image with Title, Description, Image, and Active checkbox (checked). Click Image, get the MODX Browser (web.) Navigate to an image, select it, click OK, and Create Image windows reopens. Click Save on that window, screen freezes ("Please Wait... Saving...") If you try to add image, change your mind and hit Close, a ghost window is left behind.

Are the images to display on the calendar table cell (so they must be tiny), or are they to display on the modal window? Can images and videos and maps show up on the modal window, or just text (like the live demo)?

Trying to add a video, I'm not sure what I am able to do: can I link to a youtube video by URL? If yes, how? If no, do I need to upload videos to my site? If yes, what format? Do I need to install a video player? Has anyone got a video to show up in the modal window?

=================

Testing: added 3 events, 2 in the current month, one in next month. Was only able to add "description" and "content" - plain text.

Calendar appears, but only shows the current month. Previous (<) and Next (>) buttons do nothing.

"Next" button has this underlying code:
www.myweburl/index.php?id=43&conf=,web&dt=2014-04

Modal window is always completely blank, even though underlying page code has data, for example:

30

8:00 AM

FirstTest

Added a location to one event, and no map shows up either.

=============================

I'll stop here, and have to guess that I have not correctly installed the Extra. Any help wil be greatly appreciated. If anyone is using this and has a live (public) calendar, showing images and or video on the modal window, I'd love to see it. I'd also like to know how to change the CSS for both the calendar AND the modal window.

Cheers!

Dennis

The problem with this is that it's right next to my calendar. It would make more sense to arrange the list by next available start time. So the list would be arranged in order of date, instead of order entry. Meaning since today is: 3/26 the next item on the list would be... say... 3/27 (If I had an event), then the next one entered would be... say... 3/28 (If event). So you can see the list in order what is up next according by date (in this case: start time).

I could not find anything that relates to this order. Has anyone found or may have a solution?

I'm using a non-ajax call to show event details on a resource with id 29. I'd like the title of the resource to include the displayed event title - so:

Calendar | Event Title | Website Name

But I can't figure out how to get the event title from mxCalendar. The following is what I have at the moment but I'm well aware I need something else here:

[[*id:is=`29`:then=`[[*pagetitle]] | [[*title]] | [[++site_name]]`:else=`[[*pagetitle]] | [[++site_name]]`]]

I'm trying to filter events by category in list view without success. Looking at the documentation it seems that this might not be an available option. The call I am using is this:

[[!mxcalendar?
&displayType=`list`
&isLocked=`true`
&tplListItem=`myTplListItem`
&tplListHeading=`myTplListHeading`
&tplListWrap=`myTplListWrap`
&dir=`ASC`
&calendarFilter=`2`]]

...which still displays all categories. Does anyone have any clues as to if or how I can do this?

Both use Time.ly's event plugin for WP.
http://time.ly/

Good to know what a team of 15 people can do, and it shows. I never have ANY issues with their awesome events calendar.

I love to think that MODX can do just as well as they have. I'm not a coder, but I know MODX makes my life a heckuva lot easier. Maybe the solution is MIGX, maybe it's a port of time.ly's work (licensed of course).

I see all kinds of potential for a working MODX Calendar. One client I have uses a company's poor calendar website that often cannot process the URL correctly. He books events using it. I can see hooking foxycart or simplecart up to that.

We're all time-driven, right? Why not have an awesome calendar add-on.

The top is set to -200px. I can edit this in the developer tools and the window displays properly. I can then add a new event but the next time I try to add an event the window reverts to the position off the top of the browser canvas.
