Articles & Tag Chunks
Under Advanced Settings/Tagging there is this field called "Tag Listing Chunk", where you can set your own custom chunk. I've tried that and it doesn't work. Output is still the default one. Is this feature broken or have I got this all wrong?

Help appreciated Mon, 11 Feb 2019 04:55:28 +0000
A ghost from the past: You have changes pending; are you sure you want to cancel? I just updated Articles to 1.7.11 and every time i want to close an Article the managers (REVO 2.3.5-pl) asks: "You have changes pending; are you sure you want to cancel?" followed by chrome asking basically the same thing
this seems to be an old problem since i found it also here
Anyone else experiencing this? is there a fix for it? is there a way to figure out which formfield is dirty?

Pre-defined Tags in Manager
Has anyone tried this or made it work?

I would like to have a pre-defined list of tags in the Manager Backend Articles. Like a list of Categories that an Admin user can select from for each Article.

Articles in MODX 2.4.3
Can anyone say if Articles is supported (or works with minimal/no issues) in MODX 2.4.3? I have noticed it is no longer being developed.

It is a little ironic that we want clients to use MODX instead of wordpress yet if there is a blog involved there is no proper or recommended simple way to set that up.

Clicking Tags Returns 404 Error

Unfortunately, visiting this URL returns a 404 error. However, using this style of link (manually entered) filters the list of articles as expected:

I do have Friendly URLS enabled and functioning, along with Friendly Alias Path and a container suffix of "/". MODX is installed on a Windows NT Server with PHP 5.2.17. Any thoughts? Sun, 10 Sep 2017 04:59:57 +0000
How can I customize the display of the list of Articles inside the MODX manager?

Seems that would be a huge benefit for the AddOn. I was pointed to MIGX to help solve this:

but I was hoping for a way to do this without the overhead of another add-on. Anyone have any ideas? Fri, 03 Mar 2017 05:47:57 +0000
Articles & Paging HTML container output differently? Now I'm stuck with the UL-element, which many believe is absolutely correct. I'm not one them. smiley Sematics is fun but let's not get into that. In general I just would like to have the ability to format my HTML the way I want.

Articles not appearing in management grid beneath articles container Update: upgrade to 2.2.5-pl fixed this issue.

I've tried installing and reinstalling Articles (latest version and latest release version of Modx 2.2.4-pl)

While I can create an articles container and an article, I can't get the article to display in the manager, but I can see it when I view the articles container (view it on the site). The articles grid is just blank, but there is an article (see attached screenshot).

I do have this in the error log but I don't know how to fix it:

[2012-10-02 15:59:57] (ERROR @ /connectors/resource/index.php) Could not load class: ArticlesContainer from mysql.articlescontainer.

Ideas? Thanks

Article Container Template - Rich Text TV Uses Wrong Rich Text Editor
MODX 2.2.2 / Articles 1.6.1-pl

The same rich text TV when used on a non-Article template uses the defined rich text editor (in my case, TinyMCE). When the exact same TV is used in the Articles container template, the editor is a simplistic rich-text editor.

Other types of TVs seem to be using the correct input method (pull-down, radio, etc.) when used on Articles container templates.

Another poster - in a different forum -- is having the exact same problem, but I posted this here (sorry for the duplicate - hoping it'll be seen):

Fix? Work-Around? Note: In my case, I want to use the same TV definition; don't want to make a special one for Articles unless truly a last resort; it's a part of a site-wide collection of TVs/snippet that I want to keep unified. Mon, 10 Oct 2016 12:52:08 +0000
Articles for Magazine Issues dans categories in multilang area
The client want to see in another page all articles tagged/categorized in heading XY of each issue. This can be done with getRessources outside of Articles? is this the right way to do?

Another problem is tag name: an article is in french or german. But the website has interface in french and in german. The client want the article A (french) be displayed in french into french website with french tags and in french (no translation) into german version with GERMAN tags. How to deal with translation? a keytag and a lexicon entry?

Has someone implemented a issued magazine with rubriques? Wed, 28 Sep 2016 09:06:41 +0000

It seems to me that sorting tags by name or count should be an option on the Advanced Tab. Maybe it's on the road map.

Blog subscription - email subscribers new posts I'm trying to solve a client request for their Modx site and I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. A subscription box in a sidebar. Similar to what they currently have on Wordpress. A simple name and email form. After the user is subscribed, every time a new blog post is posted, an email will be sent to all subscribers. I know you can subscribe to an rss feed. Is there any way to collect emails and send out an email to subscribers when a new post is posted?

Adding a Sortby 'old/new' dropdown for articles
I am trying to add a sortby dropdown option for my articles.

The option to select the order of display is in the advanced tab section but i'd like to provide that option in the front end.

Allowing users select what order they'd like to see. (Newest/Oldest).

I tried this -

Newest

Oldest

That didnt work.

Any suggestions/solutions will be welcomed Tue, 19 Jul 2016 05:37:58 +0000
