(the-web-site)/index.php?id=87&sid=1&gid=13&gpn=1#1_13

I want to remove the last part of the URL, i.e. the anchor (e.g. "#1_13") for some website.

This parameter seem being named the permalink.
The only place where I could found the URL being composed was in includes/models/e2g.snippet.class.php.

So, I tried to remove
. '#' . $permalink
at every location that I could find in e2g.snippet.class.php, uploaded it, cleared server and browser cache and refreshed the page. But the "#1_13" was not removed.
How can I remmove this permalink?

N.B.: I removed the [+easy2:permalink+] placeholder in the template gallery.htm, so that the target anchor is no more in the page. However, the parameter in the URL remains and is useless in my case.]]>

The 3 pictures could be randomly selected either when the page is loaded --with the paths to the pictures stored in hidden fields-- or dynamically when one of the link is clicked.

Should I write a snippet or is there a "built-in" easier solution?

Furthermore, it would be nice if the user could then browse the gallery that he selected.
I assume that I should use one of the plugins for this.

<![CDATA[Issues accessing galleries after editing easy2_dirs table]]> https://forums.modx.com/thread/98097/issues-accessing-galleries-after-editing-easy2-dirs-table#dis-post-530441
After manual edition of the easy2_dir table, I encounter a problem with the path to the root folder.

The web site use three folders (which are towns).
Easy2Gallery does not list the folders anymore. As the path, it chains the names of the miscellaneous galleries, like if they were subolders of each other, whichever the selected gallery.

I compared the content of the table "easy2_dirs" with thus of another site running well and I cannot understand what I'm doing wrong since the "parent_id", "cat_id" and "cat_level" fields seem being correctly set.

I assume that I'm missing something about the role of the "cat_left" and "cat_right" columns and how they should be set. Please see the two attached screenshots.

Who can help?
Thanks a lot.]]>

I'm new to Easy2Gallery but could see it working on some website.

I installed the version 1.4.14-pl in MODx 1.0.3.
The module is able to create subfolders in its root folder (assets/images/gallery/), but those folders are not listed by the drop lists to select a folder.

Hence, I can import images in "assets/images/gallery", but not in the gallery folders.

Any idea ?

<![CDATA[Easy2Gallery multilingual]]> https://forums.modx.com/thread/98047/easy2gallery-multilingual#dis-post-530224
I slightly adapted the code of Easy2Gallery's module to make it multilingual.
Added new table easy2_translations storing the multilingual fields.

The 'summary' field was renamed to 'title' to store the multilingual titles of the picture.
Added fields 'author' and 'source'. The maximum length some fields was shortened.

A multiligual version of the module class can be downloaded here:
http://altipoint.ch/modx_development/easy2g/includes/classes/
More details in the comments at the beginning of the file.

Please note that this is work under progress and the templates must still be adapted.
I'll try to post soon some SQL requests and pictures so that you can easily populate demonstation tables.

The new table structure

<![CDATA[Is there any way to avoid the "Easy 2" root folder ?]]> https://forums.modx.com/thread/98045/is-there-any-way-to-avoid-the-easy-2-root-folder#dis-post-530216
When I create an new gallery in Easy 2 Gallery, it always become a child of the "Easy 2" root folder. Trying to get rid of this, I edited the easy2_dirs table as follow:
  • deleted the "Easy 2" record
  • set the "parent_id" to 0 for galleries
  • set the "cat_level" to 1 for galleries
  • set the "cat_id" to 1,2,3 for my galleries

This worked for the galleries with cat_id 2 and 3.

However, when I try to access the gallery with cat_id=1, I encounter the following issues:
  • instead of the content of the gallery, the list of gallery folders is diplayed
  • when later clicking on the first gallery name, the path is displayed as "Gallery_1/Gallery_1" (instead of "Gallery_1") and the usual buttons of the "Actions" column are missing

So, the gallery with the smallest id behaves more or less like if it was the root gallery.

Is there a way to modify the source code to get rid of this?]]>

Hi,

Just wanted to know if this is unimplemented feature or a bug:
the "Shrink" option for generating the thumbnails does not work in Easy2Gallery 1.4.0-RC1 installed in French.

In French, the translation of "shrink" is "rétrécir".
Could this bug be caused by the accented characters "é" of the translation?
Or does this also affect the English version?

Thanks.]]>

<![CDATA[Display a given image with Easy 2 Gallery ?]]> https://forums.modx.com/thread/97876/display-a-given-image-with-easy-2-gallery#dis-post-529236
For some website, I'm interested in Easy 2 Gallery mostly for its backend.
(to import pictures in folders)

On the frontend, I just want the e2g snippet to output a given picture, without any gallery system (no slideshow or so), since the picture is going to be used as the background image.

I tried what follows, but this still calls the default service to display thumbnails:
[!easy2? &fid=`114` &landingpage=`1` !]

I just want to output the picture "src" value, possibly with a simple customized wrapper.

Is is possible with Easy 2 Gallery and if yes how?]]>

--------------------------

Hi,

I have this very strange issue using Easy 2 Gallery in Mozilla Firefox:
when trying to upload one (or more pictures), I sometimes have the message "The connection was reset" displayed in the right frame of the MODx manager as soon as I click the "Upload" button.

This occurs only for some pictures and always the same ones.
As long as I could see, the problem does not occur in Internet Explorer, but in Mozilla Firefox.

I tried clearing both the cache of MODx and the browser, but this does not solve anything.

All pictures are 1020x720 pixels and about 200 Ko.
Some pictures that load without problem have a size larger than the ones that cannot upload. The names of the problematic pictures are not longer than others, nor do contain any special characters.

If I save the pictures again and give them another name, I can sometimes upload them.

Any idea?

<![CDATA[Picture and thumbnails on same page]]> https://forums.modx.com/thread/97679/picture-and-thumbnails-on-same-page#dis-post-528314
Is there an easy way to make Easy2Gallery display picture and thumbnails on the same page?

For Maxigallery, it is possible by placing two calls and using javasript to display the picture of the clicked thumbnail on the same page.
http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/MaxiGallery#Picture_and_thumbnails_on_same_page

I cannot use MaxiGallery this time because I'm already using it to load backgrounds.

So, I wonder if I should place two calls to Easy2Gallery and add some javascript, exactly like the technique for MaxiGallery, or if there is an easier way to do it.

Currently, I use this very simple snippet call: [!easy2? &gid=11 !]
It outputs the thumbnails from gallery #11, but the clicked picture is displayed on a black layout by this script from the module "show.easy2gallery.php".

Thanks.]]>

// create cover file
        $thumbDirs = explode('/', dirname($thumbPath));
        $count = count($thumbDirs);
        $xpath = $gdir;

        for ($c = 0; $c < $count; $c++) {
            $xpath .= $thumbDirs[$c] . '/';
            $this->createIndexHtml($xpath, $lng['indexfile']);
        }

Is this patchable?

I would like to display 2 instances of Simple slideshow in one document with 2 different sizes.

I put 2 snippet calls into the resource but it does only use the size parameters given in the 2nd snippet call.

[!easy2? slideshow=`simple` &gid=`20` &ss_w=`400` &ss_h=`250` &ss_allowedratio=`all` !]
[!easy2? slideshow=`simple` &gid=`20` &ss_w=`200` &ss_h=`150` &ss_allowedratio=`all` !]

So, I tried to create a new plugin based on Simple, copying all the resources in libs/slideshows/simpleqjuery and renamed
the new one to simplejquery1 and called it in the snippet to have a separate version available.

[!easy2? slideshow=`simple` &gid=`20` &ss_w=`400` &ss_h=`250` &ss_allowedratio=`all` !]
[!easy2? slideshow=`simple1` &gid=`20` &ss_w=`200` &ss_h=`150` &ss_allowedratio=`all` !]

Unfortunately I get
1230: empty index file in database

Is there a way to get it to work, or probably another way to use Simple 2 times in one resource?

Any hint is highly appreciated.
