    Hi,

    After upgrading from 2.1.2 to 2.2 in env listed below manger is unusable - there is no tree on the left, and nothing is displayed below the main menu except 5 standard widgets on Dashboard. On clicking anything on main menu the space is simply blank. The site itself, however, seems to work. Error log is not updated on install or use.

    Here is install log from core/cache/logs

    Environment: IIS 7.5, SQL Server Express, MODX revo 2.1.2-pl, quip 2.0.4-rc2, PHP 5.2

    Made a mistake of doing it on a live site without testing first. Already opened a bug ticket at http://bugs.modx.com/issues/6600 , but would like if anyone can share any ideas in the meantime.

      Check the permissions and ownership of the root, manager, and connectors directories.

      • Does it work if you disable the compress_js setting in your db and clear the cache manually? Or you can set it to 0 in the core/cache/system_settings/config.cache.php and if it works, you can then edit it in the manager before clearing the cache again.

          Thank you for your replies!

          Setting compress_js and concat_js both to 0 and clearing the cache resolved my problem. Sweet!
          Can I keep this setting, does it only do what the name implies, and affect performance of dashboard?
          • That's correct, it will not compress the manager js, so performance will be a little slower. I am having similar issues on IIS 7.5 with the compression so I imagine there is a bug we have to identify and squash here.

              I'm having the same issue - disabling all the js/caching seems to have solved it for now - but I am also getting this in my error logs:

              PHP warning: require(Minify.php)

              Among other path errors, looks like there is a path setting missing or someone moved the required libs to a directory called lib....

              I changed some of the paths like so:

              in, httpdocs/manager/min/lib/Minify/Controller/MinApp.php

              //require_once 'Minify/Controller/Base.php';
              require_once 'Base.php';

              and in /httpdocs/manager/min ~ any line that said require 'filename'; I prepended the lib/ directory in front of it, like so:

              //require 'Minify.php';
              require 'lib/Minify.php';

              There are also these lines:

              /* minify stuff */
              define('MINIFY_MIN_DIR', dirname(__FILE__));

              but it isn't actually used anywhere ~ that's where I think the root of the problem is lying...

              Anyway, I made those changes & the manager seems to be behaving just fine now, no more errors in the log either.

              • Thanks for followup Sean. Is this also on IIS 7.5? Or is your problem due to the incude path change minify attempts to do not working on your environment?

                  I have not tested in IIS [nor do I intend to wink ] but the paths in the httpdocs/manager/min/index.php file are definitely wrong. My php include path is ".:" so everything needs to be relative the way these files were setup there would have to be a bunch of include paths set... OR more likely I think that the MINIFY_MIN_DIR variable was just never implemented correctly. Maybe I'll tinker with that a little more later.

                  • I bet if you remove the error suppression on like 76:

                    @set_include_path($min_libPath . PATH_SEPARATOR . get_include_path());

                    you will see an error generated from this line. Can you confirm?

                      not sure I follow - remove the error suppression?
