    Thanks for the encouragement Susan. I have had plans move some of my sites to a VPS, but admit that server management has seemed a bit intimidating.

        The server is running Centos OS 5.6
        5.2.8-1.

        Thus far, I am OK with reactive. Support has been lightening quick to respond, and very helpful. I'll certainly know more within a day or two once I have a chance to do an install.

        Here's a question though: Can I upgrade the PHP on the server "after" I've already installed MODx and create a working site?

        • Yes. Just pay attention to the php.ini file that the new upgrade is using. Especially the date and timezone settings, and the magic_quotes settings.
