Does revo have a way to export static HTML files? I was considering using this as an easy way to have development and public versions online at the same time - exporting every time I have content to update - but this feature seems MIA.
Thanks

Yes, its taken a long time for me to get back to you, but here’s my thoughts:
MODx is foremost a tool to make design and development easy. As far as displaying a website to users MODx doesn’t really change anything and has the possibility of slowing things down. So why not treat it as an IDE? What I would like to do is run a local installation for development - as I am the sole contributor in this particular situation - and simply export php files to the server for display.
Has there been any thoughts, discussion, work, etc, on this? What do people think?
Cheers

You can use ’static resources’ (files) for your pages? Then edit them through MODx as well.

how would one do that? Through the import feature? wouldn’t that be devoid of snippets, chunks, etc, and therefore defeat the entire point of using modx?

I’m not really sure why you posted that.. After a quick skim it appears as if it requires dreamweaver for something.

’MODxFS lets Unix users with FUSE mount MODx databases as filesystems. This means you can directly edit Chunks, Pages, Snippets, and Templates with your preferred HTML/PHP editor. ’
Yes you can edit them as flat files, but they can hardly be viewed by a browser that way.
