    Hi,

i just tray to install MODX an a WIndows Server 2012 R2 with IIS and as admin tool Plesk.

I get this messages when i tray to start the setup:

FATAL ERROR: MODX Setup cannot continue.

Make sure your C:/Inetpub/vhosts/xxxxx.xx/httpdocs/core/cache directory exists and is writable by the PHP process.

Dose some one have any experience regarding this?

    Thanks

    • The error message is telling you the cache directory either doesn't exist or isn't writable by PHP. You need to make sure it exists and PHP is able to interact with it.

        Hi

I solved the first issue with setting the right permiton.

Now i get this error message

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in C:\Inetpub\vhosts\xxxx.xx\httpdocs\index.php on line 28

        An suggestion?
        • What version of PHP are you using?

Did you transfer the files individually with FTP? That often results in corrupted or missing files. That message suggests that your index.php file is corrupted or truncated (unless you edited it and made a typo).
