  • I wish I could use ajax - the issue is the server that is being called is not visible to the client side. We were doing something that that - but finding inaccurate reports for the analytic we were tracking.

      Stucking look like more the default behavior of exec(). I would say look closely at the executed command.

      Is there really an output piping?
      Is there really an & in the end?

      Maybe something got lost while transferring it into MODX.
      • Yes, a snippet does need to return whatever you want to display. Echo and print usually work, but sometimes not as expected, so it's always better to gather your output into a variable and return it.

        You also might want to check your server's PHP error logs as well as the MODX error logs and see if they provide any clues.
