    Hey All,

Just letting you know that I posted a new screen cast on Youtube at : http://bit.ly/wH6Multi.

The goal of the screencast is to teach you how to set up an ajax powered taglister page.

It will teach you have to: customize your taglister chunk to get it ready for an ajax call and also how to create the jQuery code to dynamically load the results from each click of the tag on the page.

Please give me feedback so that I know if it was helpful or not...

    -Noah

In the tpl, wouldn't it be better to leave the URL in place, with the addition of the javascript disabling of the link? In that case, if the visitor doesn't have Javascript enabled he'll still be able to use the link as usual.

    Hi Susan,

Duly Noted. I will put an annotation in screencast. Any other feedback? Do you think it would be helpful for someone just learning MODX? It is hard to offer super informational screencasts while not getting too longwinded.

I am looking to more screencasts and tutorials. Do you have any interest in being a technical advisor, to make sure that I offer best practice information and not just "what works for me" type info?

Thanks for doing this but i wonder if you could add a step by step guide as this isn't working for me so assume i am missing something.

    Thanks

    Hi Noah,

Neat work - thanks for sharing it.

I looked for a similar solution when building our own site, and ended up combining getResources and razorjack's Quicksand plugin (http://razorjack.net/quicksand/ ) which I found very flexible.

You can see the result of that here: http://whistlehospitality.co.uk/our-work/

For your solution, a finishing touch might be to prevent the jump back to the top of the page when a tag is clicked & the list 'reloaded', by adding a call to preventDefault on the click event. I guess leaving in the URL & overriding it in the JS, as Susan suggested, could serve the same purpose.

    Cheers,
    Phil
