    Hello everyone.

Quite a while back I posted a PHP snippet that could be used to migrate WordPress content to MODx. It was basic, but it worked.

Since then I've made a module out of it. It's still basic, but it works as far as alpha testing goes. I'd like to get some feedback on others regarding it, to see if it's useful or not.

    Here's the download: http://www.smalldog.be/sandbox/WP2MODx.zip
Installation instructions are included in the package; it's fairly straight-forward.

    Platforms:
    Tested with WordPress 2.6, 2.7, 2.8, and 2.9.2
Tested with MODx Evolution 1.0.0 and 1.0.3.

Known Bugs: If you click that you DO have a plugin installed, when you don't, the process will complain and die. Not really a bug, though, as much as a 'stupid user' thing.

    Ideas for Future Improvements:
    1. Automatically detect if the necessary template variables are present in MODx and, if not, create them.
    2. Provide a list of available templates (and parents?) instead of requiring manual entry of the resource ID.
    3. Migrate WordPress pages and comments (we'll see how difficult that is -- without threaded comments in Jot, maybe comments just aren't doable).

Dude, I'm stoked that this even exists! Any chance of supporting MODx Revolution (eventually). Apparently Quip supports threaded comments
