Disregard any URL or trademark issues for the time being. Here's my top five, in order of preference.

    Moxie
    LaunchPad
    SiteStorm
    Impress / Intrasect (tie)

Although truth be known, I'd be happy with any of the above.

Ryan might be on to something, I have the same top 3:

    Moxie
    LaunchPad
    SiteStorm

Moxie is catchy. I know you said not to worry about trademarks, etc. but I couldn't help but look this up:

I've previously seen the same, but don't think we need to be worried. Their company name is "Global Moxie" and none of their products use the word Moxie. Plus, the actual trademark is owned by an old softdrink company (where the word originated).

Doesn't the trademark present a problem then? It'd be like calling the CMS "Coke".

I don't think so. Unlike Code, Moxie didn't defend their trademark and it is now a word in the dictionary. Once a trademark falls into common usage, it isn't enforceable ("Global Moxie" is proof of this).

Also, there is now an XML language for music notation named "Moxie" so I don't think we'd have anything to worry about.

So is Moxie and Impress. ;-)

(Unless your list consisted of only one entry...)

(In which case I'll pencil in "Moxie" while your back is turned, just to be funny... )

Its all a matter of conveyance. There is nothing in the brand names Moxie or Impress that conveys to me anything about the product. Granted, I'm anti-CMS tagging, but SiteStorm at least conveys that it is Site oriented.

Plus its a well known marketing fact that alliterative names and slogans tend to resonate better with the common consumer.

That being said, SiteStorm also opens up a number of additional possibilities. As I metioned before, product features, project names, promotional campaigns etc. can all be a play on the name. You also have the perceived benefit of a shortened name, SS. (Trust me...I'm used to that one!)

    Any thoughts to the contrary?
