This template is from a request by French Frog to port the templates at http://andreasviklund.com/templates/ to MODx.  This is the port of "Andreas 03".  You can see it at my website, and I have attached a screenshot below.  I will work on getting the rest of them ported this week, but Andreas 03 is my favorite, and Ryan Thrash mentioned that it would be a good template to use as an installer. So, Ryan... there you go.  More to come!

I also liked in this template the little separation bars for titles, and the [back to top] ... Were you able to keep this little tidbits in your port scotty ?

We're going to have to settle on a standard menu so users don't have to guess which snippets they need to install, and also a packaging format. This isn't Linux!

    Very nice job, though.

maybe a template installer that includes a sql file to insert the template and used snippets (only snippets that are not shipped with mod-x) and chunks?

is not as easy to make I think but would be very user friendly.

but its a bit risky to update the database...
    just an idea.

I am trying to edit NewsListing to work with this template, getting rid of the fieldset, and figuring how to h2 the title of the article so the css will put that bar across the top of each story. I must have taken out the return to top link. I will revise tonight after work.

I agree to point, but this template should be usefull to ALL users, especially novice users. if they can upload one folder, and copy/paste text into a new template, the template is more universally usefull than one in which the end user has to open up the template.html and manually put in their own links.

But, I'll make you a deal grieco! I will repost this template with the <ul><li><a>link</a></li></ul> lists commented out, so you can add them yourself.

    regards,

The snippets in 0.9.0 will make keeping everything in line with web standards much more simple. The new news-related and DropMenu snippets are significantly differnt in function from the previous stuff for sure.
