At long last, and after a brief delay thanks to OS X 10.3.9 and Firefox 1.0.3, here's the first official code release from Operation MODx. Some things to note:

      * The tree menu, manager and buttons all not only work in Firefox and Win IE, but also Safari and Opera, too!
      * The plugin system works, is really cool, and brings yet another very powerful set of capabilities to developers
      * Webuser login system now allows people to also request accounts and change their own passwords
      * Installer should upgrade all installations from Etomite 0.6 through the MODx2 rc-series releases
      * Some pretty good documentation to go along with everything as well
      [/list:u]

Note: Older files removed. For more info about latest downloads, please check announcements.

Enjoy! (and let us know when things inevitably go awry...)

Installation was as easy as expected and the first impression is absolutely stunning! Outstanding work!

Now a little bit of marketing and the world will fall in the front of the new ModX
This is just a very minor rant compared to the whole program but I still dont't like the sliding manager menu (top left) though with that I can live with. Or perhaps change it by myself.

Oh yes! You have fixed that too. I was way to quick to judge...

Thanks for the early report. Please keep in mind that this is a technology preview and no where close to what our final manager will look like. But keep those reports coming in, please!

You guys are amazing. Thank you so much. I'm still trying to take it all in.

Some details I ran into during install (upgrade):

Overwrote page id 1 and user id 1 (default administrator) in upgrading the database.

Didn't work to upgrade Etomite 0.6 that hadn't already been Modx upgraded.

Any particular errors on the failed 0.6 upgrade attempt? Was it a clean 0.6 install free of modifications?

(We'll get the other one fixed soon, too... good catch!)

Install went very smooth, though I had some problems. It was all my fault, though during some manual executing of the setup.sql, this error was generated.

    line 444 missing ';'

But after installing php4-mysql everything went without errors, so I don't think this is a big issue.

Now I need to get to understand this system hehe.

Oh, so far, it works with Konqueror, thanks!

    hmmmm,

Did it also overwrite the system configuration settings?

Yes, now that you mention it.

I also realize since you asked that the one I upgraded may not have been a clean Etomite 0.6--I have a few installations with different versions of mods so don't remember.
