Okay, I have figured out how to hide a manager form field in Revo using: http://rtfm.modx.com/display/revolution20/FC-Resource, but from what I can gather you can only initiate this rule with regard to user groups. Is this the case?

What I am looking to do is create rules that hide/change fields based on template that is assigned to the resource. Is this possible?

    Hi Greg,

I think what you're looking for is located right here: http://rtfm.modx.com/display/revolution20/Form+Customization+Rules. Scroll down and check out the Constraints chapter. Good luck!

    Thanks for the help.

Have some of the field names changed? Like hide_menu and parent? I have searched but am not finding an amended list of these like in the mmdocs/field-names.htm of ManagerManager

Okay, I have almost answered my own questions. Except for hiding the Parent Resource field. I found this page: http://rtfm.modx.com/display/revolution20/FC-Resource, but unless I am missing it I don't see a reference to that field to be hidden.

Looks like using modx-resource-parent works, although I am not sure if that is the recommend approach.

I think this is what you want:

    Action: core - resource/update
    User Group:
    Name: parent
    Containing Panel: modx-panel-resource
    Rule: Field Visible
    Value: 0

You'll want another rule the same except for
    Action: resource/create

Can you explain the purpose of the second rule?

Can you explain the purpose of the second rule?

Form Customization allows you to do rules on *any* Action (page) in the modx manager. This means that you have to create 2 rules for Update and Create, as those are different Actions.

This also allows you to present different screens for Updating and Creating Resources.
