This is a drop-in table-free replacement for the AlexRedux template that is often used in original Etomite sites. It is very simple, and the CSS is highly flexible.

I styled it all in ems, so it expands and contracts with the user's choice of font size. It is source-ordered, with the content column first in the source. It can just as easily be styled in pixels or percentages. Just adjust the widths and move the modx content and tv tags to change the sidebar from left to right.

The entire sidebar content is contained in a TV, allowing the sidebar to be edited the same as an individual document's main content.

Hmm maybe i set this up wrong, but I notice that when i expand or shrink my browser window, it directly affects the position of the sidebar. I added a logo to the main area and it caused the sidebar to be squeezed down to below-left the main content. Then i edited the stylesheet and changed teh width of the main content window to bring back the sidebar, and that works at my current window size. But if i expand it, the sidebar stay too far over to the left. And if I shrink it, it eventually causes the sidebar to get pushed down again.

Anyway of making this more liquid?

It's all in the CSS. Change it to percentages instead of ems, or pixels...whatever suits your fancy.
